PRAYERS FOR NEWBORN GRANDSON & MY DAUGHTER, HIS MOMMY🙏

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My grandson should've had easy birth but Dr used forceps, tore my daughters insides and she has high threshold of pain and Nurses say it's a long painful recovery: but, the baby was fine first 20 hours then developed fast heartrate, now in ICU and testing for sepsis while treating him with two antibiotics waiting culture and blood test results. Please pray he's not got sepsis, he wasn't permanently damaged by forceps, and he and his Mommy will fully quickly recover and one day he'll have siblings! He is their first. How can this happen why forceps not section? Dr said "5 hour limit on pushing"? First baby? Please pray tbaby boy is fine and so is his Mommy and Daddy who loves them both so much. Thank you🙏

We lift up this precious newborn grandson and his courageous mother before the throne of grace, asking for the Lord’s healing hand to rest upon them both. The pain and fear you describe are deeply felt, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, trusting in the God who hears the cries of His children and works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, asking for Your divine intervention. For this little one, we pray against the threat of sepsis and any hidden complications from the birth. Lord, You formed him in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14), and You know every beat of his heart. We ask that You steady his heartbeat, strengthen his tiny body, and guide the hands of the doctors and nurses caring for him. Let the antibiotics work swiftly, and may the test results bring clarity and hope. Protect his brain, his nerves, and every part of him from any lasting harm caused by the forceps. We declare Your promise over him: "For I know the plans I have for you, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11).

For his mother, we pray for complete healing, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The pain she endures is great, but we know that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Lord, ease her suffering, restore her strength, and grant her peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Comfort her in the long nights and help her to trust in Your goodness, even when the road to recovery feels overwhelming. We ask that You knit her body back together, just as You knit her son together in her womb. May she feel Your presence holding her close, reminding her that she is never alone.

For the father, we pray for strength and wisdom as he supports his family through this trial. Give him patience, endurance, and a deep trust in Your provision. May he lead his family with faith, leaning on You for every decision and every moment of uncertainty.

We also lift up the questions and frustrations surrounding the birth. The use of forceps and the decision-making process may leave lingering doubts, but we trust that You are sovereign over every detail. Lord, we ask that You bring clarity and peace to their hearts, even if the answers are not what they hoped for. Help them to release their fears and frustrations into Your hands, knowing that You work all things for good (Romans 8:28).

Father, we pray for the future of this family. May this little boy grow strong and healthy, a testament to Your faithfulness. We ask that You bless this couple with more children in Your perfect timing, if it is Your will. May their home be filled with love, laughter, and the joy that comes from trusting in You. Strengthen their marriage, Lord, and help them to build a foundation rooted in Your Word and Your promises.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to steal their peace. We declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to trust in You, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). We speak life, healing, and restoration over this family, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Lord, we thank You for the gift of this child and for the love that surrounds him. We trust in Your unfailing love and Your power to heal. May this family experience Your presence in a tangible way, and may their testimony bring glory to Your name. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage this family to cling to Scripture for comfort and strength. Meditate on verses like Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Lean on the body of Christ, your church family, for support, prayer, and practical help. This is a season of trial, but it is also a season of growth in faith. Trust that God is using this experience to draw you closer to Him and to one another.

If there are lingering questions about the medical decisions made, we encourage seeking a second opinion or discussing the details with another trusted healthcare provider. Wisdom is a gift from God (James 1:5), and it is okay to seek clarity. However, guard your heart against bitterness or resentment. Forgiveness and trust in God’s sovereignty will bring peace.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you that all prayer and access to God’s throne is made possible only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation of all hope, healing, and peace.

We are sorry, and we are praying with you, for your grandson, your daughter, her husband, and for you. When the details feel so sharp and the questions keep circling, it’s hard to do anything but wait, and waiting aches. Please know you are not alone in this.

In the middle of a family’s crisis, simple acts of love often become a lifeline. Your steady presence is already a gift. In the days ahead, look for small, concrete ways to lighten their load: bring a meal, run an errand, sit with your daughter while she rests so she doesn’t feel abandoned in the pain, or simply be the familiar, calm voice that prays aloud when they cannot find the words. Those ordinary kindnesses carry more hope than we usually realize.

The ICU team is doing exactly what is needed right now, treating while they wait for answers, and that is wise care. For your daughter, a long, painful recovery is exhausting, and she will need both physical rest and gentle emotional support. Trust the medical staff to guide her healing, and keep offering her your quiet, reassuring love. You do not have to solve the “why” today; you are already doing the most important thing by staying close and holding on to hope.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, this family is heavy with fear and pain. We lift up this tiny boy, touch his body, clear any infection, and let each heartbeat be steady and strong. Bring his mother deep healing, relief from pain, and renewed strength day by day. Sustain his daddy with courage and peace. And surround all of them with your nearness. In the midst of this storm, be their safe place. We ask for full recovery, for joy to return, and in your time, for siblings to follow, all in your care. Amen.

Thank you so very much. Your prayer grounded me. Reminded me to cast aside fear and cling to my faith in Jesus. Heartwrenching to hear my daughters fear for her son who isn't in her arms or in her sight, and the fear of sepsis since her dear Aunt and Godmother passed from it a decade ago. In Jesus name✝🙏

The sharpness of this trial cuts deep, and the questions rise like a flood. Why this affliction upon a mother and her newborn child? The mind searches for a reason when the heart is breaking. Yet in the house of bread, which is Bethlehem, Christ Himself came forth, and think you not that the adversary sought His life even from the womb? The dragon stood ready to devour the Child as soon as He was born. So it is with every precious life that enters this fallen world. The enemy hates the fruit of the womb, and we must wrestle in prayer as Jacob wrestled, even unto the breaking of the day, even with the hollow of the thigh put out of joint, crying, "I will not let Thee go, except Thou bless me."

The physician's instruments have torn, and the child lies under the shadow of a fever. You ask why forceps and not the knife? I bid you turn your eyes from the hand of man to the hand of God. The Lord permits what He could prevent, and He prevents what He might permit, all according to the counsel of His own will, which is ever loving and ever wise. Recovery may be slow, wonder not at this. As the daughter gains strength, as the little one draws breath without racing heart, let each small mercy be acknowledged as a fresh claim upon your affection and upon your praise. The Lord is the strength of His people, and He will be their song.

Behold the birth of Christ: a manger for a throne, a stable for a palace, and yet angels sang and a star burned bright. This little boy, lying in the ICU, has a soul of infinite worth. The prayers ascending for him now are far more precious than gold. Whether sepsis is confirmed or not, the Lord knows them that are His. The Covenant promise runs to the faithful and their household. Noah believed, and his whole family entered the ark. Lay hold of that Covenant now. Bring the child to Jesus by faith. Bring the mother, the father, the whole household, and shut the door of the ark behind you, trusting the Lord to preserve what you have committed to Him against that day.

Let family prayer be redoubled in this hour. It is the nutriment of family piety, the castle of the faith. Cry out day and night. Let the groans of the mother rise from her bed of pain, and the sighs of the father from his watchful chair. The Lord inclines His ear. He hears the cry of the humble.

What of the name of Christ? He is called Jesus, for He saves His people from their sins. Call that name over your grandson. Speak it softly into the incubator. Whisper it into the ear of your wounded daughter. This affliction, dark though it be, may be the birth-pang of a great and glorious work of grace in that family. The Lord may be drawing them near, teaching them to refuse the evil and choose the good through the very suffering they now endure. The butter and honey of providential mercy will be tasted soon enough. For now, let them feed on the promise, which is the bread of heaven.

The practical point is this: do we belong to that family which is named in heaven and earth? All things are yours if you are Christ's. Sickness and health, life and death, things present and things to come, all are working together for good, because they are the instruments in the hand of a Father who loves you, given to you in wisdom.

He and his family left their houses to find a home in the ark, and so they were saved. Let this mother not think it strange concerning the fiery trial. The Lord will yet bring her forth like gold. The child shall live, and not die, and declare the works of the Lord. I trust, yes, I believe, that one day that boy shall bring to his mother the joy of a godly life, and perhaps the laughter of siblings shall yet fill her home, for the blessing of the Lord makes rich and He adds no sorrow with it. Fix your eyes on the faithful Promise-Keeper. He will perfect that which concerns you. The family on earth and the family in heaven are one body, and the Head of that body cannot forget His members.

Lean on your staff, and say before you see the full answer, "Not one good thing has failed of all that the Lord God has promised." He will make this trial, so bitterly cruel in its present taste, to be a wellspring of tenderness and strength. Be of good courage. The Lord is in this place, though you knew it not. Wait on Him, and let your hearts be comforted. The outcome is with Him. The Lord grant that this newborn boy be spared, and that his mother be restored to full strength, and that the whole family be bound together in a new bond of love and devotion to their God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
