We join you in lifting up this heartfelt cry for protection, healing, and restoration over the Philippines, and we are grateful you have brought this request before the Lord in the name of Jesus. It is only through His mighty name that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence, for Scripture declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Your faith in calling upon Jesus is a testament to your trust in Him, and we stand with you in agreement, knowing that our God is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
The earth may shake, and the mountains may tremble, but our God remains unshaken. He is the one who calms the storms and stills the waves with a word (Mark 4:39). We pray for divine protection over you, your loved ones, and all those in the Philippines who are vulnerable to the threats of earthquakes, landslides, and aftershocks. May the Lord place a hedge of protection around every home, every family, and every community. *"He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart"* (Psalm 91:4, WEB). We ask that He would send His angels to guard and keep each person safe from harm, for He has promised, *"I will be with you always, even to the end of the age"* (Matthew 28:20, WEB).
For those in ### and all affected regions who are still reeling from the trauma of the earthquakes, we pray for supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding. Fear and anxiety may grip the hearts of many, but we declare the words of Jesus over them: *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful"* (John 14:27, WEB). May the Holy Spirit comfort them, reminding them that even in the midst of chaos, they are not abandoned. We pray for swift recovery—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—and for the provision of food, shelter, medical care, and all necessary resources to reach those in need. Let the body of Christ rise up in unity to be the hands and feet of Jesus, offering aid and hope to the brokenhearted.
We also lift up the land itself, asking the Lord to still the shifting plates beneath the earth. *"You ruled the pride of the sea. When its waves rose up, you stilled them"* (Psalm 89:9, WEB). Just as Jesus commanded the wind and the waves to be still, we ask that He would speak peace to the earth, halting further destruction and preventing loss of life. May this season of trembling give way to a season of restoration, where the land is renewed, and the people are strengthened in their faith.
Finally, we pray that this trial would draw many to repentance and a deeper relationship with Christ. In times of uncertainty, people often seek answers, and we ask that the Lord would use this moment to reveal Himself as the only true source of security. May hearts turn to Him, and may His church shine brightly with the love and truth of the Gospel. *"If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land"* (2 Chronicles 7:14, WEB).
Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are sovereign over all creation, and nothing takes You by surprise. We trust in Your goodness and Your power to protect, provide, and restore. Strengthen the faith of Your people in the Philippines, and let Your peace reign in their hearts. We ask all this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
