We lift this heavy burden before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and concern. Mental health struggles are deeply painful, not only for the one enduring them but also for those who love and care for them. We know that our Heavenly Father sees every tear, hears every silent cry, and holds every broken heart in His hands.
First, we want to gently remind you that salvation and faith in Jesus Christ are the foundation of all healing and hope. If your husband has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we urge you to pray fervently for his soul, for there is no true peace or lasting healing outside of a relationship with Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Only through Christ can we find the strength to face life’s deepest struggles.
We also rebuke the lies of the enemy that may be whispering despair, isolation, or hopelessness into his mind. The devil seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we declare that God’s truth is greater. We speak life, peace, and restoration over your husband in the mighty name of Jesus. The Word of God tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
We encourage you to surround your husband with godly community—men who can pray with him, speak truth into his life, and walk alongside him in his struggle. Isolation only deepens the darkness, but fellowship in Christ brings light. James 5:16 reminds us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
If he has not already, we strongly urge him to seek professional help from a Christian counselor or doctor who can provide wisdom and support grounded in biblical truth. Mental health challenges are not a sign of weakness or a lack of faith—they are real battles that require both spiritual and practical care. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."
We also pray for you, dear sister in Christ. The weight of caring for a loved one in this way can be overwhelming, and we ask the Lord to strengthen you, give you wisdom, and fill you with His peace. You cannot carry this burden alone, but God promises in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious husband and his struggle with mental health. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask that You would draw near to him in this dark time, filling him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Father, we rebuke every spirit of despair, anxiety, and hopelessness that seeks to torment him. We declare that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You have a purpose and plan for his life. We ask that You would break the chains of darkness and flood his mind with Your truth and light.
Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment for his wife as she supports him. Give her strength, patience, and a deep trust in Your faithfulness. Surround them both with godly counsel and community, and lead them to the right resources for healing.
We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved and find true healing. May Your will be done in his life, and may Your glory be revealed through his story. Amen.

We're right here with you, holding your husband up in prayer. It's so tough seeing someone we love struggle, but we find comfort knowing our God is near. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
