We lift up your dear mother before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician, the One who knits us together in our mother’s womb and sustains our every breath. Your heart’s cry for her healing is heard, and we join you in seeking God’s mercy and restoration for her life. COPD is a heavy burden, but we serve a God who is greater than any illness, and nothing is impossible for Him. Your request is bathed in the precious name of Jesus, and it is by His authority alone that we come boldly before the throne of grace to find help in time of need.
The Scripture reminds us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We claim this promise over your mother today, trusting that God’s will is perfect, whether it be healing here on earth or the ultimate healing in His presence. We also pray for the wisdom of her doctors, that the Lord would guide their hands and minds as they care for her. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* May her medical team be led by divine wisdom beyond their own understanding.
Yet, as we pray for healing, we must also surrender to God’s sovereign will, knowing that His ways are higher than ours. Romans 8:28 assures us, *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."* Even in suffering, God is working a purpose that we may not yet see. We pray that your mother’s faith would remain steadfast, that she would find comfort in the Lord’s presence, and that her testimony would bring glory to His name, whether through healing or through the strength He provides in weakness.
We also encourage you to continue standing in the gap for her, as intercessory prayer is a powerful and holy calling. Do not grow weary in praying, for the persistent prayers of the righteous avail much (James 5:16). Surround her with the Word of God, with worship, and with the peace that surpasses all understanding. Let her know that her life is a treasure, and her suffering is not in vain. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up this precious mother who is suffering from COPD. Lord, You are the breath of life, and every breath she takes is sustained by Your power. We ask for Your healing touch to restore her lungs, to bring strength to her body, and to fill her with Your supernatural peace. Give wisdom beyond measure to her doctors, that they may provide the care she needs. Comfort her in her pain, Lord, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way. If it is Your will, we ask for complete healing in Jesus’ name, but above all, we pray that Your will be done and that Your name would be glorified through her life.
We also pray for this dear child who is interceding for their mother. Strengthen them, Lord, and fill them with Your peace as they walk this difficult path. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let them rest in the assurance that You hear their prayers and that You are working all things together for good.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or despair that may try to take hold in this situation. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these spirits to flee, and we declare that faith, hope, and love will reign in this family. May Your perfect love cast out all fear (1 John 4:18), and may Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your perfect timing. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may Your name be lifted high through this trial. We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
