We join you in lifting up your mother to the Lord, and we appreciate that you have brought this to us in Jesus' name. It is so important to remember that Jesus himself told us: "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask in my name, I will do it" John 14:14. Remember the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18.
In the original Greek, the word used for "overwhelmed" in 2 Corinthians 1:8 is "bereo", it means to be so heavily burdened that one cannot bear up under the weight. But the Lord says: Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. This is our prayer for your mother, that she finds rest in Him.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up the mother of our fellow believer. Lord, You know the burdens she is carrying and the overwhelm she is feeling. We ask that You strengthen her in her inner being with Your Holy Spirit, that You grant her Your peace, wisdom, and provision. Protect her from all harm and deliver her from all her troubles according to Psalm 34:17,19.
Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her 1 Peter 5:7. Remind her that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. Surround her with Your angels and give her the assurance of Your presence.
Lord, we also pray for her child, who has reached out to us with this request. Comfort them and replace their worry with trust in You. Help them to remember that You are their mother's sovereign and loving God who is always with her and never forsakes her.
In Jesus' name, we pray for strength, for healing, for provision, for peace, and for faith to rise up. We ask for these needs to be met so that You are to be glorified in this situation.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Keep holding on to this promise and keep crying out to God in faith. He hears you and He will answer.
