Prayers for my stuff to be returned to me

Beloved of All
My brother's ex friend that use to stay with us stole my old ipod that my ex boyfriend gave to me. He also stole my camera and tried to deny it. He also tried to steal my lava lamp which was on the floor in a backpack in my brother's room. One of my bestfriends that dated him said she saw both items the ipod nano and camera in his room on a dresser. I also had other things stolen like an old ipod shuffle, an old video now with my name engraved on it, spinner watch and a picture of one of my friends and I from third grade. I know the picture was stolen by my mom's ex boyfriend's daughter who also lived with us before she moved.

We hear your pain and frustration over the theft of your belongings, and we stand with you in seeking justice and restoration. The Bible is clear that stealing is a sin, and those who take what does not belong to them will be held accountable before God. "Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need." (Ephesians 4:28 WEB) What was taken from you was wrong, and we rebuke the spirit of theft and deceit that has operated in these situations.

We also want to gently address the mention of your "ex-boyfriend" and the nature of your past relationship. If this was a romantic relationship outside of marriage, we must remind you that the Bible calls such relationships fornication, which is sin. "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." (Hebrews 13:4 WEB) We encourage you to repent of any past sexual sin and seek God’s forgiveness and healing. His grace is sufficient to cleanse and restore you.

Now, let us lift your situation to the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You. Lord, You see the injustice that has been done to ###, the theft of her belongings, the lies, and the betrayal. We ask that You would expose the truth and bring restoration. Father, we pray that the items taken would be returned to her, either through the repentance of those who stole them or through Your divine intervention. If it is Your will, soften the hearts of those who have wronged her so they may return what was taken and seek forgiveness.

Lord, we also pray for ###’s heart. Guard her from bitterness, anger, or a spirit of revenge. Help her to release these burdens to You and trust in Your justice. "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord." (Romans 12:19 WEB) Fill her with Your peace and remind her that You are her Provider and Defender.

Father, we rebuke the enemy’s schemes to steal, kill, and destroy in her life. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). Strengthen her faith and help her to walk in integrity, even in the face of betrayal. We also pray for those who have stolen from her, that they would come to know You, repent of their sins, and turn from their wicked ways.

Lord, we ask that You would heal any wounds from past relationships and help ### to walk in purity and holiness. If it is Your will, bring a godly spouse into her life, one who loves You and will honor her as Your daughter. Until then, help her to trust in You and find her worth in Christ alone.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to take practical steps as well. If possible, confront those who have stolen from you with love and truth, giving them an opportunity to repent and return what was taken. If they refuse, you may need to involve godly authorities or leaders in your life to seek justice. But above all, trust God to work all things together for your good (Romans 8:28 WEB). He sees your pain, and He will not abandon you. Keep your heart soft toward Him, and allow His love to fill the places where you’ve been wronged.

It’s disorienting when someone who’s been in your home violates your trust like that, especially when the things they took hold personal memories, not just random objects. We ache with you over the engraved VideoNow, the third-grade photo, the iPod from your ex-boyfriend. Those aren’t just things; they’re pieces of your story, and it’s painful to have them yanked away.

We know you’ve already tried confronting the brother’s ex-friend and got a denial, even though a friend saw your iPod nano and camera in his room. That’s so frustrating. If you haven’t already, maybe your brother or a parent could be the one to calmly restate what was seen and ask for the items back, sometimes a different voice changes the conversation. As for the picture taken by your mom’s ex’s daughter, that might need your mom’s help if you’re in touch with her, since she likely knows the history there. If any of these items feel unsafe to pursue directly, please don’t put yourself in a position where you could be hurt or manipulated. Your safety matters more than a lava lamp.

Even while you wait and do what you can, we want you to know we’re asking God to move on your behalf. Not because He’s a vending machine, but because He sees you and He cares about what matters to you.

Lord Jesus, You know exactly where every missing item is, and You know the hurt behind this theft. We ask You to bring those things back in whatever way You see fit, through a change of heart, through someone’s honesty, or through discovery. Give wisdom to the right people to speak up or act. Most of all, guard our friend’s heart from bitterness and fear, and let Your presence feel steady and close even in this unsettled season. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The things of this earth are soon swept away, and it is a sore trial when the hand of the wicked snatches what you treasured. Yet consider, are these mere trinkets to be set against the weight of your soul? The camera, the lamp, the little engraved device, they are shadows that pass. What if you lost all and yet possessed Christ? Then you would possess your possessions indeed. The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions, not by clutching the fleeting dust, but by holding fast the covenant promises with a holy grip. Let this loss drive you to that which cannot be stolen, for where your treasure is there will your heart be also. Holiness unto the Lord is the only true enjoyment of any good thing.

Return! Return! Do not let your heart grow hard with fretting over these losses. The same mercy that calls the wanderer home bids you find your rest in God alone. The dove found no place for the sole of her foot and so returned to the ark, and sweet was her welcome through the window of grace. Your aching over these stolen pieces is but the soul’s weariness; now hear the voice that says, Return unto the Lord your God, for you have fallen into disquiet and distrust. Because you are thus fallen, His pity invites your return. He would not have you gnaw your spirit with vexation over what a thief has taken, but would give you Himself as your exceeding joy.

Be warned, lest the love of mere things eat like a canker. What shall it profit a man if he gain back his iPod and lose his own soul? Compared with the loss of the soul, all these earthly trinkets are a dreadful loss. Set your affection on things above, where no thief approaches. If the Lord multiplies your possessions again, you shall find God in all when you are rich; if not, you shall find all in God when you are poor. Your life consists not in what you possess, nor in what you lack. The gifts and calling of God are without repentance, He has given you Himself, and He will never return from that promise.

Return now from your evil way of sorrowing as those without hope. The lower voices cry out to pull you back into bitterness and a shrill metallic ring of accusation, but hearken to the sweeter call: Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee. The Lord sees you not as one despoiled, but as one He would restore. Acknowledge in each increase of strength that He has a new claim on your affection. Recovery may be slow, but wonder not at His tenderness. Noah learned more when the dove did not return to him; your true resting place is not found in recovered goods but in the cleared flood of Christ’s finished work. The ark is open; return, weary dove, return.

You ask prayers for the return of a few small trinkets. Yet what are these but dust and shadows, which moth and rust destroy and thieves break in and steal? The real injury is not that you have lost them, but that the one who took them has wounded his own soul by this act of injustice. For it is written, "Hath a man stolen our money?

He hath not injured us, only let him not steal our treasure which is above." Your iPod, your camera, your lamp, these are passing trifles. The true treasure is the inheritance kept for you in heaven, which no thief can touch. Therefore, do not let your heart be troubled over these things. Rather, pray for that poor soul who, in his lust for perishable goods, has brought condemnation upon himself.

If you bear this loss with thanksgiving, you may yet recover them, as Job did; but if not, your reward before God will be greater still. For when we suffer the loss of earthly things patiently, we store up for ourselves unfading crowns. Consider too your own sins, for which you deserve far worse than the loss of a few devices. Would you not then forgive this small wrong, as you hope to be forgiven?

Do not call it theft, but a wrong done by one who was once a friend to your household. Commend all to God, and He will order all things for your good.
