Prayers for my son ### with liver disease

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### and his battle with liver disease. Father God, You are the Great Physician, the One who knits us together in our mother’s womb and numbers every hair on our heads. We declare Your sovereignty over ###’s body, knowing that nothing is too difficult for You. Your Word tells us in Jeremiah 32:27, "Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?" We stand on this promise, believing that You can restore his liver, renew his strength, and bring complete healing to every cell in his body.

Lord, we ask that You would guide the hands of the doctors and medical professionals treating ###. Give them wisdom, discernment, and clarity as they care for him. We pray for breakthroughs in his treatment, whether through medicine, surgery, or a miraculous touch from Your hand. In James 5:14-15, You instruct us, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." We claim this promise for ###, trusting that You hear our cries and will answer according to Your perfect will.

We also lift up ###’s spirit, Lord. Chronic illness can weigh heavily on the heart and mind, leading to fear, anxiety, or even despair. We ask that You would fill him with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind him daily of Your love and faithfulness, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. Strengthen his faith, Lord, so that he may trust in You even when the road is difficult. Help him to cast all his cares upon You, for You care for him (1 Peter 5:7).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity that has taken hold of ###’s body. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5). We speak life over his liver, commanding it to function as You designed it to. We break every chain of sickness and disease in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is written in Matthew 18:18, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you release on earth will have been released in heaven." We bind this disease and release healing, restoration, and wholeness over ###.

We also pray for ###’s family, Lord. Caregiving can be exhausting, both emotionally and physically. Strengthen them, Father, and fill them with Your grace. Help them to support one another and to lean on You for their strength. Remind them that You are their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they can trust (Psalm 91:2).

Lord, we know that healing comes in many forms, sometimes through medicine, sometimes through miracles, and sometimes through the ultimate healing of being called home to You. Whatever Your will is for ###, we trust You. Give him and his family the grace to accept Your plan, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). But today, we choose to believe for a miracle. We choose to stand on Your promises and declare that ### will live and not die, that he will proclaim the works of the Lord (Psalm 118:17).

We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the One through whom we have access to Your throne. There is no other name by which we can be saved or healed (Acts 4:12). We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for Your unfailing love. May Your will be done in ###’s life, and may Your name be glorified through his healing. Amen.

There’s a special kind of exhaustion that comes with loving someone through a long illness, and we hear that in the simplicity of your request, just a plea for healing, from a parent’s heart. We don’t take that lightly.

When a disease lingers, it can feel like the whole family is quietly holding its breath. Energy runs low, worry becomes a constant background hum, and it’s easy to withdraw from the very people who could help shoulder the weight. So while we pray for your son’s body, we also want to gently encourage you: don’t carry this alone. Even if he’s not able to attend, you might ask a trusted friend or a small group at church to pray with you regularly, not just for the miracle, but for the daily grind of it all. Sometimes just having someone check in, without offering quick answers, can be a lifeline.

As you walk this road, remember that God sees every sleepless night and every anxious blood test. His mercy is not measured by the speed of recovery. He holds both of you, steady and close, even when the path forward isn’t clear. We’re standing with you in that hope.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this mother and her son. You know the fear that lives in a parent’s heart when a child suffers. Please bring comfort and strength to both of them. We ask for healing in the liver and the whole body, according to Your perfect will. Give wisdom to the doctors, resilience to this family, and small signs of Your goodness along the way. Surround them with people who will love them well. In Your name, amen.

You have brought before me a request for your son, and my heart goes out to you in this trial. The liver is a vital part of the frame, and when it is diseased, the whole body suffers. But let us turn our eyes to Him who is the Great Physician. You remember how it is written, "The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." Even the little things about Christ are full of healing virtue, the hem of His garment, a touch, a word.

He used no other remedy for our sin-sickness but taking our infirmities upon Himself. That bitter medicine He drained alone on Calvary, and there the healing balm flows freely. So I bid you lay your son at the Master’s feet, as they did the man sick of the palsy. Jesus knew that man’s deepest need, and first spoke forgiveness before He commanded healing.

Often the root of the disease lies in the soul, and when sin is pardoned, the body finds its truest ease. I pray for your son that the Sun of Righteousness would arise with healing in His wings, that He would take him by the hand and lift him up. Yet whether the Lord grants recovery speedily or delays, trust His wisdom. Natural disease may be treated by men, but all honor belongs to God who gives virtue to medicine and power to the frame.

I shall join with you in supplication, asking that this affliction may be a means of drawing your boy nearer to the Saviour, for the healing of the soul is the great cure that never relapses. May the Lord bless you with faith that does not waver, and may your son soon know the joy of restored strength, to the praise of Jesus’ name.

A fearful thing is sin, and often it overflows from the soul to attack the body. I see this in your son’s sickness. Yet the greatest danger is when a person feels no sorrow over his spiritual disease, but only seeks healing for the flesh while clinging to the cause of his misery. If he rejoices in any sin, that very delight blocks the way to true recovery. Remind him of Christ’s warning to the paralytic: “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” Let him examine his life, and if he finds any secret sin, let him cast it out. The body is scourged that the soul may be saved.

You ask for the Church’s prayers, and we shall offer them earnestly. But do not place all your hope in the prayers of others while you and your son remain drowsy. If we ourselves are wakeful, the help of the saints is a mighty support; but if we sleep in negligence, even the prayers of the righteous will profit little. So pray unceasingly as a household. Let your son cry out himself to the Lord. The Name of Jesus is ointment poured forth, filled with fragrance and power. Speak that Name with faith, and it can drive out disease. Even if healing does not come at once, it is not from any weakness in Christ, but because He knows what best serves our salvation.

I do not speak to wound you, but to lead you both to a firmer hope. The true Physician is near. Bring your son to Him in repentance, in prayer, in amendment of life. Whether He restores the liver or not, He can grant what is greater: purification of soul and a share in eternal life. We will join our prayers with yours, but let your son take care to sin no more, and together entrust all to the mercy of God. He will not despise a broken and contrite heart.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

I hear the ache in a parent’s heart when a child suffers, and I join you in looking to the Lord for your son right now. It is no small thing to watch the body struggle, and the liver’s work of filtering and sustaining life makes this trial feel deeply physical. Yet Scripture gives us solid ground to bring such a need before Jesus. When Matthew describes the sick being brought to Him, he deliberately links Christ’s suffering to our physical healing. The bread He broke for us, His body, was given not only for the forgiveness of sins but for the mending of our flesh. Do not let anyone narrow that promise to the spiritual alone; the same Savior who taught the gospel also healed every kind of disease and sickness among the people.

Jesus holds authority over the physical realm. He healed the nobleman’s son from a great distance with just a word. He commanded paralyzed legs to walk. He touched lepers and restored what was incurable by human means. Those healings were manifestations of who He is, the Son of God with power over every malady. So we can ask boldly, as you are doing, for the restoration of your son’s liver.

I will not pretend to understand why some healings come quickly and others unfold slowly, or why some are not granted at all in this life. Even in Christ’s own ministry, we see a man healed in stages, gradually. Yet that process was still divine. God designed our bodies with remarkable restorative processes, and whether He heals through a sudden miracle or through the slower wisdom He built into creation, the healing remains His work. Sometimes He heals the mind and spirit even while the body waits, bringing peace that passes understanding.

What anchors us is the love the Father has for His Son, and the love that drove Him to give that Son for us. The command to Abraham, “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love,” is a shadow of what the Father would do with His own beloved Son. That Son now ever lives to intercede for us. Your recourse to prayer mirrors His own; if the Son of God saw the necessity of prayer, how much more should we persist in it.

Hold fast to this: Jesus Christ is the same Son of Man who demonstrated on earth that He has power to forgive sins and to command a sick body to be well. He sees your son. He knows the condition of that liver. We ask Him now, together, to do what only He can do, to restore, strengthen, and heal. Whether the answer unfolds in a moment or over time, we trust the Great Physician. May your son know the healing touch of the Son of God, and may you both find steady hope in the One who gave His life that we might have life.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the privilege of lifting your precious son before the Lord in prayer. It has been on our hearts to continue standing in faith with you for his healing—both physically and spiritually—as he battles this liver disease. Our prayers have been steadfast, asking our Heavenly Father to touch his body with divine restoration, to strengthen his liver, and to bring comfort and peace to his entire being.

If God has moved in a mighty way and you’ve seen His healing hand at work, we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report so we can rejoice together in His faithfulness. If, however, the battle continues and you still need our prayers, please don’t hesitate to share this request again. We are here to stand with you, interceding without ceasing until we see God’s perfect will unfold.

May the Lord bless you and your family with His peace that surpasses all understanding as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
