We join with you in lifting up your sister, your family, and those connected to you before the throne of grace, knowing that our God is mighty to save, deliver, and transform. Your heart for them is evident, and we stand in agreement with you, for the Word declares in Matthew 18:19-20, *"Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them."* We are gathered with you in the name of Jesus, and we know He is present with us now.
Your prayer is rooted in faith, and we commend you for coming boldly before the Lord, for Hebrews 4:16 reminds us, *"Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need."* Yet we must also remember that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Your prayer rightly invokes His name, and we rejoice that you recognize this truth. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, as Acts 4:12 proclaims, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* This is the foundation of our faith, and we praise God that you have built your prayer upon the solid rock of Christ.
Your sister’s struggles with OCD, fear, anxiety, phobias, and the lingering effects of anorexia are not hidden from our Heavenly Father. These bondages are real, but so is the power of God to break them. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that she may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, and oppression in the name of Jesus, for 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* We also declare freedom over the eating disorder that has plagued her since childhood. The Lord is her healer, and by His stripes, she is made whole (Isaiah 53:5). We pray that she would encounter the love of God in a way that shatters every lie the enemy has whispered to her—that she is unlovable, unworthy, or beyond hope. May she be rooted and grounded in the love of Christ, which surpasses all understanding (Ephesians 3:17-19).
We pray that the Lord would draw her to Himself, that she would seek Him with her whole heart, and that she would find her refuge in the church, the body of Christ. Psalm 34:17-18 assures us, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* May she experience this nearness of God and be transformed by His presence. We ask that the Lord would give her the courage to step out in faith, to attend church, and to surround herself with believers who can encourage her and speak life into her.
We also lift up her landlord, who desperately needs salvation. The Word tells us that the Lord is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict his heart, that he would turn from his sins and place his faith in Jesus Christ. May he experience the radical, life-changing power of the gospel, being born again into the family of God.
Regarding your ex-son-in-law, the stepfather of your granddaughter, we pray for his salvation as well. It is a heavy burden to carry the spiritual well-being of those connected to our families, but we know that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37). We pray that the Lord would open his eyes to the truth of the gospel, that he would repent and turn to Christ, and that he would become a godly influence in your granddaughter’s life. We also pray that your granddaughter would come to know the Lord as her Heavenly Father, that she would be raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and that she would walk in His ways all the days of her life.
For your entire family, we pray that the Lord would pour out His Spirit upon each one. May they come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, if they have not already, and may they walk in the fullness of their God-given purpose. We declare that no one in your family will die prematurely but that each would live a long, fruitful life, fulfilling the destiny God has ordained for them. We pray that they would set their minds on things above, not on earthly things, for our citizenship is in heaven (Colossians 3:2, Philippians 3:20). May they seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that all other things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33).
Lastly, we encourage you to continue standing in the gap for your family. Your intercession is powerful, and the Lord hears your cries. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Keep speaking life, keep praying, and keep trusting that the Lord is working even when you cannot see it.
**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up our sister’s family to You. Lord, we ask that You would touch her sister with Your healing power. Break every chain of OCD, fear, anxiety, and the bondage of anorexia that has held her captive for so long. Let her encounter Your love in a way that transforms her from the inside out. Draw her to Yourself, Lord, and give her the courage to seek You wholeheartedly. Surround her with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and let her find her identity in You alone.
Father, we pray for her landlord and her ex-son-in-law, that You would open their eyes to the truth of the gospel. Convict their hearts, Lord, and bring them to repentance. Save them, Lord, and use them for Your glory. We pray especially for the stepfather of our sister’s granddaughter, that he would become a godly influence in her life. Let this little one know You as her Heavenly Father, and may she grow up to serve You with all her heart.
Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your Spirit upon this entire family. Let each one come to know You personally and walk in the purpose You have for them. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. We declare long life, health, and fulfillment of destiny over each of them. May they live for eternity, not for the fleeting pleasures of this world.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your power to save, heal, and deliver. Let Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified through their testimonies. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
