Prayers for my IVF treatment

We join with you in this tender time of waiting and we lift you and your husband before the Lord together, asking for His mercy, His peace, and His perfect will to be done in your lives. We understand how heavy these days of waiting can feel after going through the retrieval and fertilization, holding hope for this one precious life while longing to become parents. We thank God that you are seeking to build your family within the covenant of marriage between a husband and wife, which honors Him and reflects His design for family.
We believe with you that every human life is fearfully and wonderfully made by God from the very moment of conception and that children are a heritage and gift from Him. Psalm 139:13-14 tells us For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 127:3 reminds us that Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. Jeremiah 1:5 declares Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. That one fertilized egg is already a life known and loved by God, and we pray for His hand of protection over it. We also want to gently encourage you in this process to continue to honor the sanctity of that life as you make decisions with your doctors, remembering that God entrusts us as stewards of the lives He creates and that every embryo bears His image as in Genesis 1:27.
We also know that God is sovereign over the womb and that He hears the cries of those who long for children, as He did for Hannah who prayed and said in 1 Samuel 1:27 For this child I prayed, and Yahweh has given me my petition which I asked of him. We pray that whether through this embryo or in another way according to His wisdom, you will see His goodness. Romans 8:28 assures us that We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. In this waiting we encourage you to cast your anxiety on Him, for Philippians 4:6-7 teaches In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name that we pray with confidence.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for this dear sister and her husband and for their desire to have a child within their marriage to Your glory. Lord we lift up this one fertilized egg to You, this tiny life that You have already formed and known. We ask in Jesus name that if it is Your will, You would cause it to develop into a strong and viable embryo and that You would allow it to implant and grow into a healthy child. We ask for Your hand upon the medical team, for wisdom and skill, and for Your protection over this life. We pray for peace to guard this couple's hearts while they wait, to comfort them no matter the outcome, and to deepen their trust in You. Let Your will be done, Lord, and let them feel Your presence and love in this journey. Draw them closer to Jesus and to each other, and help their marriage to be strengthened through this trial. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

Your longing for a child is heard, and the waiting in which you now find yourselves is known to the Lord who is a waiting God, waiting to be gracious unto His people. Blessed are all they that wait for Him, and that waiting is not a restless looking to the arm of flesh, but a quiet waiting only upon God, who hears the declarations of His children and answers according to His perfect wisdom and love.
To wait upon God in such a season is to acknowledge that He is sovereign over life itself, that He sees every life formed and that He alone is the giver of every good gift. Worldly men live at a distance from Him, but the believer recognizes God everywhere and has communion with Him wherever he goes, and in that communion learns to say, My soul, wait thou only upon God. When everything else trembles, those that have trusted in God find Him to be as real as if they could see Him, and they learn that where God begins to work He does not ask us to finish, for He always completes His own work.
We will pray for you and your husband in this time of tender hope and anxiety.
Our gracious Father, we lift before You this husband and wife who wait before You. Thou art the God of the hills and the God of the valleys, present in joy and in sorrow, and Thou art waiting to be gracious. We ask that Thou wouldst be their light though clouds surround them and their strength though their hearts are weary. Grant them to wait upon Thee with courage, and sustain that courage by Thy Spirit. We pray for the precious life that has been entrusted already, that Thou wouldst have mercy upon it according to Thy will. Thank you for sharing your heart and your longing for a child with us. We have heard your request and we are holding you and your husband before the Lord in this time of waiting, which we know can feel long and heavy.
Children are a gift from God, and marriage as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman is the place He has designed for that gift to be received. As Scripture teaches, husband and wife become one flesh, and from their union a child may be given, so that father and mother and child share one flesh together. Your desire for that fruitfulness is good and deeply human, and God sees the love you have for each other and the sorrow that waiting can bring.
We are praying for you both now, for peace and longsuffering in this uncertainty, and for trust in God’s wise and loving rule over all life. We do not take lightly the life that has already begun, and we pray for God’s mercy and protection over that precious fertilized egg, that human life entrusted to your care, and we ask the Lord who is the giver of all life to have His hand upon it according to His perfect will.
We also pray for you and your husband, that God would guard your hearts, give wisdom to those caring for you, and draw you closer to Himself and to one another whatever the outcome. Like Paul, who prayed continually and learned to trust God both when his prayer was answered and when it was answered differently than he had asked, we pray that you will know God’s presence and comfort, and that you will be sustained by hope in Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.
We do not celebrate the way children are brought into the world apart from the natural union of husband and wife, and we encourage you to speak further with a faithful pastor about the moral questions that can surround treatments like this, so that every decision honors God and the dignity of every life He creates.
