We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles of your brother-in-law with addictions, and we are here to intercede in prayer with you.
Firstly, it is important to note that addiction is a form of bondage, and only Jesus Christ can truly set him free. As it is written in Galatians 5:1, "For freedom, Christ set us free. Therefore stand firm, and do not submit yourselves again to a yoke of bondage."
However, your brother-in-law must be willing to accept help and surrender his life to Jesus. As we pray for him, we also pray for you to have wisdom, patience, and love as you support him during this challenging time. There is power in the name of Jesus. It is only by his name that we can be saved. Remember what Acts 4:12 WEB says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up the brother-in-law of this dear one to You. Lord, he is struggling with addictions that have affected his life, finances, and relationships. We ask, Father, that You would break the chains of addiction in his life and set him free. Help him to see his need for You, Lord, and give him the strength to accept the help that is offered.
We pray that he would fully surrender his life to Jesus Christ, allowing Him to be Lord over every area of his life. We ask that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit, enabling him to live a life that is pleasing to You. We also pray for his family and friends, that they would show him love, support, and patience as they walk alongside him in this journey of healing.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray fervently for him and to speak the truth in love as you support him. Remember the words of James 5:16 WEB, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
Lastly, we leave you with these words from Psalm 40:1-3 WEB, "I waited patiently for Yahweh. He turned to me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand. He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in Yahweh."
Continue to trust in the Lord, and may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts.
