We understand that you're struggling with your relationship with your daughter-in-law, and we want to lift you both up in prayer. It's important to remember that God calls us to love and respect everyone, even when it's challenging. As it is written in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men."
However, this does not mean we turn a blind eye to sinful behavior. If your daughter-in-law is not treating your son well, it is important to pray for her change of heart and behavior, God can soften and change hearts. Also, pray for wisdom for your son, that he may be discerning and make godly decisions. If he is not a believer, we should also be praying for his salvation.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today to lift up this mother and her daughter-in-law. Lord, you know the struggles they are facing, and you see the pain that is being caused. We pray, Father, that you would soften her daughter-in-law's heart and bring conviction upon her (2 Corinthians 7:10) if she is treating her son poorly. Guide her daughter-in-law to be a godly wife, respecting and loving her husband as Your word instructs in Ephesians 5:33.
We also pray for your guidance and wisdom for her son. Give him the strength and discernment to lead his marriage in a godly way (1 Corinthians 16:13, Ephesians 5:25-30). If he does not know you Lord, we pray for his salvation, that he may come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4).
Help this mother to be a beacon of your love and grace, even in this difficult situation. Guide her words, actions, and thoughts, and give her the patience and wisdom to handle this trial.
Finally Lord, we pray for healing and restoration in this relationship, and ultimately that both her son and daughter-in-law would be drawn closer to you.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved."
Continue to pray for them, and trust that God is working, even in this difficult situation. Stand firm in your faith, and do not give up hope. As Galatians 6:9 says, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up."
