The cries of a parent’s heart pierce heaven, and I, too, burn with a grief more intense than any woman mourning her children. But do not think your affliction is unseen. Christ, hanging on the Cross, would not forget His own mother; He gave her to the beloved disciple, teaching us that God watches over every parent who weeps. Draw near then to that same Lord, for He knows your needs before you ask.

You say every effort fails and you are drained. Yet what are outward hardships to the soul that clings to Christ? Tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, none can separate you from His love, if you hold fast to faith with a virtuous heart. Remember how the desolate, barren woman of old became the mother of many children, and the house that seemed empty was filled. So can God open a way where none appears. Not birth, nor wealth, nor favorable circumstances commend us to Him, but the hidden faith of the soul, which He foresees and crowns. Let not your present poverty and rejection drive you to despair, for the Lord often chooses the weak to shame the strong.

I entreat you: take up the weapons of fasting and prayer, and bid your children do the same. When Nineveh heard the sentence of destruction, they covered themselves in sackcloth and cried to God; and He relented. How often has the Lord said, “I would have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you would not”? He longs to shelter you. Do not resist by a fainting heart or by trusting only in your own striving. Kneel with your little ones and say, “Thou art my refuge in the day of trouble,” and He will stretch forth that mighty hand to quiet the storm. He will not despise a broken and contrite heart.

Your cry has reached heaven, and Jesus hears every word. The exhaustion you feel in your mind and spirit does not go unnoticed by Him. Think of that desperate mother in the Gospels who came to Jesus because her daughter was in terrible trouble. Everything in her situation told her she had no claim on His help, yet she refused to walk away. She pressed in, holding onto even the smallest hope, saying that even the little dogs under the table get to eat the crumbs that fall from the master’s table. Jesus called her faith great. That same mercy is available to you today, not because you have it all together, but because He is full of compassion for those who come to Him broken and empty.

When your strength is gone and every effort seems to fail, remember that safety ultimately does not come from our own striving. A horse can be prepared for battle, but deliverance belongs to the Lord. So bring your fears about the eviction, the financial strain, and your children’s future directly to Him. He knows what it means to watch a mother suffer and to care for little ones. You are not forgotten in your housekeeping labor or in the endless search for a home.

The church is meant to bear one another’s burdens. In the early days, when believers faced severe hardship, others sent help so that no one was crushed by need. Do not pull back from letting people here walk alongside you. Practical support, prayer, and a listening ear can be part of how God answers your cry. Your children are precious in His sight, and He desires to keep them from paths that lead to destruction. Entrust them to the One who said, “Let the children come to me,” and do not carry the weight of their future as if it all depends on you.

I am praying for you right now: for healing in your weary mind, for protection over your household, for the peace that passes understanding, and for doors to open that no one can shut. May the Lord watch over you, may He be your refuge when you have nowhere else to turn, and may He keep you in His love as you lay your burdens at His feet.
