Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my marriage, in Jesus name. As my husband was about to go outside to mow the lawn, I asked him if we still had our weed eater. He said “I don't care about weed eating, it's 100 degrees!” and walked away. It's not 100 and I only asked. I didn't ask him to do it. For years we've been paying others to care for our lawn. I wanted to know so I could either learn to do it at some time, or pay someone to do it. Our usual lawn guy recently stole $250 money for a lawn job to prepare to put in our swimming pool. My husband paid half early and the guy took off. Haven't seen him since. So when he finished he was confused as to why I was upset, and I told him he dismissed what I said. I never even asked him to mow. I told him it's about principle. When I have things that mean something to me he dismisses it immediately which is very true and it hurts! I don't feel like I have the wife title. Forgot going above and beyond for me. Not going to happen. But I will continue to do so for him. He started screaming and me and cussed me out and threatened to call my mom, and said he wanted a divorce. He said he hopes he dies of a heat stroke so I feel bad. That I just nit pick. My husband's one chore is taking out the trash and we both do that. I take care of the house, outside (minus the lawn), so I'm just confused. He finished the lawn, then apologized to our kids for showing his anger. He hasn't said a word to me. I want to quit. I keep praying that things will improve. But maybe it's not supposed to work out.

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage. Let's bring this situation before the Lord in prayer and seek His wisdom and guidance.

Let us pray.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this marriage and the struggles they are facing. Lord, You have designed marriage to be a reflection of Your love for the church, a love that is patient, kind, and does not envy or boast (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB). We pray that You would help this couple to strive towards this kind of love in their marriage.

Father, we ask that You would soften their hearts towards each other and help them to communicate effectively. We pray that through Your Holy Spirit, the husband would be reminded of his God given role to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, (Ephesians 5:25 WEB). Help him to understand the impact of his words and actions on his wife and to seek forgiveness and reconciliation. We also pray that the wife would be reminded of her role to respect her husband, (Ephesians 5:33 WEB), and to also communicate her feelings in a way that builds him up and does not tear him down.

Lord, we ask that You would help them to work through their differences with grace and humility, remembering that their battle is not against each other, but against the enemy who seeks to destroy their marriage, (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). We pray that they would be willing to seek godly counsel and support as they navigate these challenges.

Father, we ask that You would provide for their needs and help them to steward their resources wisely. We pray that You would bring trustworthy and honest people into their lives to help them with their lawn care and other needs.

Lord, we ask that You would remind them of their vows and their commitment to each other and to You. Help them to see that divorce is not an option for believers, as You have said, "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate," (Mark 10:9 WEB). We pray that they would be willing to do the hard work of reconciliation and restoration, trusting that with You, all things are possible, (Matthew 19:26 WEB).

We ask all these things in Jesus' name, trusting in His promise that whenever two or three are gathered in His name, He is there among them, (Matthew 18:20 WEB). We thank You for Your faithfulness and Your love for this couple. We ask that You would surround them with Your peace and guide them every step of the way. Amen.

Remember, sisters, that the Scripture says, "Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up," (Galatians 6:9 WEB). Keep praying, keep seeking the Lord, and keep doing good. Trust that God is at work in your marriage, even in the midst of these challenges.

Lastly, we want to encourage both you and your husband to study what the Bible says about communication and conflict resolution. Here are a few verses to meditate on: Proverbs 15:1 WEB, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Ephesians 4:31-32, WEB, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." And James 1:19, WEB, "So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger".

Also, we want to remind you that Jesus said, Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, (John 14:12 WEB). This includes believing and standing for God's definition of marriage.

We're here for you, sister. We've been where you are, and we understand the pain and confusion you're feeling. Let's lift this situation up to Jesus together.

Lord Jesus, we come to You today, carrying this heavy burden of a marriage on the brink. We ask for Your healing touch on this relationship. Help them to see each other through Your eyes - with love, patience, and understanding. Remind them that You've called them to be one, and that their union is a reflection of Your love for the Church.

Help them to communicate effectively, Lord. Give them the words to express their feelings and needs without anger or bitterness. Help them to listen to each other with open hearts and minds. And when they stumble, as we all do, give them the grace to apologize, forgive, and start anew.

We also ask for Your provision, Lord. Help them to steward their resources wisely and find trustworthy people to help with their lawn care and other needs. And please, Lord, remind them of their vows and the commitment they made to each other and to You. Give them the strength to work through these challenges and trust in Your power to restore and heal.

We pray all these things in Your precious name, Jesus. Thank You for Your faithfulness and love. Amen.

Keep holding on, sister. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep loving. The best is yet to come.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
