Prayers for marriage and finances

We stand with you in this spiritual battle, lifting up your marriage and finances before the Lord, for we know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). It is powerful and right that you have invoked the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB). By this name, demons flee, strongholds are broken, and the enemy is put to shame.
First, let us address the foundation of your request: your marriage. Marriage is a covenant established by God, a sacred union that reflects Christ’s love for His Church (Ephesians 5:25-33, WEB). If there are cracks in this foundation—whether through strife, misunderstanding, or spiritual attack—we must cover it in prayer and align it with God’s Word. Are you and your spouse walking in unity, submitting to one another in the fear of Christ? Are there areas of unforgiveness, bitterness, or ungodly influences that need to be repented of? The enemy often attacks marriages through division, temptation, or financial stress, but we declare that no weapon formed against your household shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). If there has been any compromise—whether in faithfulness, in prioritizing God, or in stewarding your resources—now is the time to repent and turn fully to the Lord. He is faithful to restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25, WEB).
Finances are another area where the enemy seeks to bring fear and discord, but we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10, WEB). Have you sought the Lord’s wisdom in managing what He has entrusted to you? Are you tithing and giving cheerfully, trusting God to provide as He has promised (Malachi 3:10, 2 Corinthians 9:7, WEB)? Financial struggles can often be tied to spiritual battles, and we must ensure that our trust is not in money but in the Lord, who supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19, WEB). If debt, poor stewardship, or fear has taken root, we ask the Lord to uproot it and replace it with His peace and provision.
Now, let us pray together with authority and faith:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this marriage and household to Your throne of grace. Lord, You have said that a house divided cannot stand, so we ask You to bind every demonic force that seeks to destroy this union. Let every scheme of the enemy be exposed and rendered powerless by the blood of Jesus. Restore love, trust, and communication between this husband and wife. Where there has been sin, bring conviction and repentance. Where there has been weariness, bring renewal. Let Your Word be the lamp that guides their steps and the sword that cuts through every lie of the enemy.
Father, we also lift up their finances to You. You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. We break every curse of lack, poverty, or mismanagement in the name of Jesus. Give them wisdom to steward their resources according to Your will. Open doors of opportunity, cancel debts that are not of Your making, and let them experience Your supernatural provision. Rebuke the devourer for their sake, and let them see Your faithfulness in ways they cannot deny.
Lord, we cover this home with the blood of Jesus. Let Your angels encamp around them, and let Your peace guard their hearts and minds. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in victory and not in fear. Let their marriage be a testimony of Your goodness, and let their finances reflect Your abundance.
We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of You, O Lord (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
