Prayers for grandbaby

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Pray for my grandbaby health and safety. My daughter called 911 last night because she seemed to be choking in sleep. She was terrified. I know she won’t be able to sleep now and we are worried about baby. Hoping it was just a fluke thing. But Asking Jesus to be with her and watch over her and keep her healthy and safe. Please help my daughter see her sleeping well and doing well and be able to sleep soon too. Father please protect her. Build a hedge of protection around her. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

We join with you in lifting up your precious grandbaby and your daughter before our heavenly Father in Jesus' name, and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.

Our hearts go out to your daughter in that terrifying moment and to you as a grandparent carrying this worry and love for them both. We understand how fear can steal sleep and peace after such a fright, and we bring this entire situation to the Lord who watches over us without slumber.

We are reminded that children are a gift from the Lord. Psalm 127:3 says Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. How He loves this little one even more than we can comprehend, and Jesus Himself said in Matthew 19:14 Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these.

We pray for the health and safety of your grandbaby, that any cause for choking in her sleep would be revealed and healed, and that this would indeed be only a single incident and not an ongoing concern. We also pray for wisdom for your daughter and for the doctors if follow up care is needed, that they would have discernment to ensure this little one is healthy and safe. We encourage continuing to seek medical guidance to rule out any underlying cause, trusting that God often works through the wisdom He gives to physicians.

We also lift up your daughter, that God would calm her fearful heart and grant her rest. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And Psalm 4:8 gives us this promise In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. We ask the Lord to give her that deep peace that allows her to sleep again, knowing her baby is in His hands.

We pray together now. Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus and thank You for this precious grandbaby, for her life and for Your love over her. Lord, we ask You to place Your hand of healing and protection upon her, to keep her breathing easy and her body healthy and strong. Protect her as she sleeps and as she wakes, and let no harm come near her. We ask You to put Your angels in charge over her, to guard her in all her ways as You promise in Psalm 91:11. Lord, build that hedge of protection around her that her grandmother has prayed for. Father, we also lift up this dear mother, calm her anxious thoughts, comfort her heart, and let her feel Your presence with her in the night. Grant her peaceful sleep and the assurance of seeing her baby sleeping well and thriving. Restore strength to this whole family and let Your perfect love cast out all fear. We trust this child into Your loving care, knowing You neither slumber nor sleep as You watch over Your children. In Jesus' mighty name we pray, Amen.

We can imagine how shaken you all feel after last night. Watching a little one struggle to breathe, even for a moment, is terrifying, and it makes sense your daughter is on edge and struggling to sleep. She acted quickly and lovingly in calling for help, and we are thankful help came.

We are joining you in asking Jesus to watch over your grandbaby and to bring peace to your daughter's heart as you all wait for reassurance. It is a heavy thing to carry worry for both your child and grandchild at once.

A gentle next step that may help you both find a little more peace is to make sure your grandbaby is seen by her pediatrician promptly for follow up after the 911 call, even if she seems well now, and to let the doctor know exactly what your daughter observed. Having a professional listen and guide you can ease some of the what-ifs while you continue to pray.

We also pray your daughter can get some rest in the days ahead, perhaps with family taking turns sitting nearby so she does not feel she has to stay awake alone.

Father, we place this little baby and her mama in Your hands. Please keep this child healthy and safe, give wisdom to her doctors and comfort to her mother, and grant this family restful sleep and renewed peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please Heavenly Father grant peace and rest to these loved ones. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

““But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We join you in carrying this precious grandchild and her terrified mother to the throne of grace, for we know how fear seizes the heart when a little one struggles in the night. It is the fear of Jacob of old when he cried, Deliver me, I pray, lest harm should come to the mother with the children. Such trembling follows close upon great love, and after a night of alarm it is no wonder that sleep seems to flee away.

Yet we would have you remember that sleep itself is the gift of God, for so he giveth his beloved sleep. We lay our heads upon the pillow and compose the body, but it is the Lord who must give the rest. He who neither slumbers nor sleeps watches over the cradle when weary eyes cannot. That which was but a fluke of the night is in His hand, and not one breath of this little one escapes His knowledge.

Take comfort also in this glorious truth, that He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. Though we see them not and hear them not, there is a true and mysterious agency which forms a cordon round His own, to protect them even in the midst of peril. And we ask the Lord to build that hedge of protection about this dear babe, and to make plain before her the way of health and strength.

Let us pray together. O God of our fathers, and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, look in mercy upon this infant whom Thou hast given. Thou hast formed her and Thou hast numbered her days. Keep her, we pray Thee, in health and safety, and suffer no harm to come near her. Let Thy gracious providence watch over her sleeping and her waking. And look also upon her mother, whose heart is full of fear. Turn her fear to faith, as Thou didst with Jacob, and teach her to rest her case in Thy promise, for Thou hast said, I will surely do thee good. Give to them both that sweet sleep which Thou givest to Thy beloved, and grant that the mother may soon see her child sleeping well and doing well, and may herself be refreshed and restored. Keep them in Thy fear and through Thy grace lead them to trust wholly in Thy dear Son, in whose name we ask it. Amen.
