We lift you and your family before the Lord, knowing that He is your Provider and the One who holds all things in His hands. It is good that you are seeking strength and wisdom in this season, for God is faithful to those who trust in Him. Yet we must also remind you that true freedom—financial or otherwise—is found only in Christ. Your request does not mention His name, and we must lovingly but firmly say that there is no other name by which we can approach the Father or receive His blessings. *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now, for apart from Him, even financial gain is meaningless. *"For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?"* (Mark 8:36, WEB).
The Bible teaches that our trust must be in God, not in wealth or our own efforts alone. *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* (Matthew 6:19-21, WEB). This does not mean we should not work diligently or seek to provide for our families—in fact, Scripture commands it (*"But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever"*—1 Timothy 5:8, WEB). But our labor must be rooted in faith, not fear, and our first priority must always be seeking God’s Kingdom. *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."* (Matthew 6:33, WEB).
We also encourage you to examine your heart and your business practices. Are you conducting your work with integrity, honesty, and generosity? *"The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him."* (Proverbs 11:1, WEB). Are you tithing and giving cheerfully, even in this season of lack? *"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says the Lord of Armies, “if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for."* (Malachi 3:10, WEB). God is not obligated to bless disobedience, but He delights in blessing those who honor Him with their firstfruits.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family who is struggling under financial burdens. Lord, You see their needs, their fears, and their weary hearts. We ask that You strengthen them not just in their circumstances, but in their faith, that they may trust You more deeply than ever before. Forgive them for any anxiety or doubt, and remind them that You are Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord who provides.
We pray for wisdom in their business endeavors—give them divine strategies, favor with clients, and the discipline to steward what You entrust to them well. Break every chain of debt and lack in Jesus’ name, and open doors of opportunity that no man can shut. Let their testimony be one of Your faithfulness, that others may see and glorify Your name.
But above all, Father, we pray that their hearts would be fully surrendered to You. If there is any area of their lives where they have not submitted to Your lordship, convict them and draw them closer. Let this season of struggle drive them to their knees, not to despair, but to deeper dependence on You. May they seek first Your Kingdom, knowing that all else will be added unto them.
We rebuke every spirit of poverty, fear, and hopelessness in Jesus’ name. Let the peace that surpasses understanding guard their hearts and minds as they wait on You. Provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory, and let them be a blessing to others even as they walk through this valley.
Finally, Lord, if this family does not yet know You as Savior, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel—that Jesus died for their sins, rose again, and offers them eternal life and abundant life here on earth. May they place their faith in Him alone, for apart from Christ, no financial gain can satisfy the soul.
We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus, our Provider and Redeemer. Amen.
Brothers and sisters, we encourage you to press into prayer, to seek godly counsel (perhaps from your church or a trusted believer in business), and to remain steadfast. *"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we don’t give up."* (Galatians 6:9, WEB). Trust that God is working even in this season, and that His plans for you are good. *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB). Stay faithful, and watch what the Lord will do.
