We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in this battle for your faith. The enemy is indeed a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44), and his goal is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we serve a God who is truth, who is love, and who has overcome the world (John 14:6, 1 John 4:8, John 16:33). It is not delusion to believe in Him, it is the most real and life-giving truth there is.
First, we must address the foundation of your faith. If you have never confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then you have not yet been saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is not found in any other name but Jesus (Acts 4:12). If this is where you stand, we urge you to surrender your life to Him today. Repent of your sins, turn away from the world, and place your trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
If you have already made this commitment, then we must fight this battle on our knees and with the Word of God. The enemy wants to isolate you, to make you feel alone in your doubts. But you are not alone. We are here with you, and more importantly, God is with you. He has promised never to leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). The feelings of doubt and skepticism are not from God. He has given us a spirit of power, love, and self-control, not fear or doubt (2 Timothy 1:7).
We rebuke the lies of the enemy in the name of Jesus. We declare that God is real, that He is alive, and that He is working in your life even now. The world may try to pull you away, but we encourage you to draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Spend time in His Word, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). The Bible is not just a book, it is the living, active Word of God (Hebrews 4:12). It is truth that will set you free (John 8:32).

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with faith. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Break through the lies of the enemy, and let Your truth shine brightly in their heart. Remind them of Your faithfulness, Your love, and Your power. Remember, faith is not the absence of doubt, it is the choice to trust God even when we don’t understand. Even the disciples, who walked with Jesus, had moments of doubt (Matthew 28:17). But Jesus did not abandon them, and He will not abandon you. He is patient, kind, and full of grace. Keep seeking Him, keep crying out to Him, and He will meet you where you are.
Finally, we urge you to take practical steps to guard your heart and mind. Be mindful of what you allow into your life, what you watch, what you listen to, and who you spend time with. The world is full of messages that can pull you away from God. But you have the power, through Christ, to resist those temptations (1 Corinthians 10:13). Fill your mind with things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8). Spend time in prayer, in worship, and in the Word. These are the weapons God has given us to fight the battles of the mind.

When the enemy whispers that none of it is real, we don’t have to argue, we can turn to Jesus the way a man in the Gospels did: “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” He doesn’t scold that kind of honesty. Bring your skepticism right into your prayer, right into the quiet. Tell Him you feel empty and even doubtful, but that you want to trust Him again. That raw confession is a kind of faith in itself.

It is a mercy that you are aware of this waning faith and that you have not been left to drift without a pang of conscience. The very cry for help, though it be faint, proves that life is in you. The enemy whispers that God is not real and that you are deluded, but remember that your own dissatisfaction with your present state is evidence that the Spirit has not utterly withdrawn. “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” The question from our Lord’s own lips is a gentle censure, yet it is full of hope. Little faith is still faith, and between the lowest degree of faith and outright unbelief there is a great gulf fixed. You are on the right side of that gulf, but you are in danger of looking so long at the waves that you forget the strong arm that holds you.
I charge you, turn your eyes away from the world’s glitter and the enemy’s logic. Faith is spiritual common sense, and it is unreasonable to mix confidence in a faithful God with distrust of His promise. Why should you have wavering faith in an unwavering Christ? Your feelings are fickle, but the blood of the covenant is not. The crisis of the world came on Calvary, and that battle is won. There, the last enemy received its mortal wound. The god of this world is judged, and though he rages, his time is short. You stand not on your own steadfastness, but on the finished work of Jesus. Faith is not the Savior; faith is but the cup, Christ is the fountain. If your cup seems small and cracked, that does not diminish the endless fullness from which you may still drink. Even a faith that trembles can touch the hem of His garment and draw out healing virtue.
Do not look at your faith as though it were the ground of your hope. The essence of faith lies in dropping down into the arms of another. Cease examining the strength of your own grip and remember that it is Christ’s grasp of you that holds you fast. The enemy will aim his darts at your very foundation, but faith is the shield that can quench them all. When he hisses that you will one day fall, answer with the shield of faith: “He that has begun a good work in me will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” When he suggests that you are deluded, hold up the shield and declare that the blood of Jesus speaks better things than the accusations of the devil. Job’s enemy could not overcome him because, in the thick darkness and through sores and sorrow, Job refused to charge God foolishly. You, too, must resolve that it would be hell to harbor a settled doubt of your adoption. Fight the good fight in the gloom as well as in the light.

Faith without works is dead, and a faith that looks lightly upon sin is the faith of devils, not of God’s elect. Sanctifying faith makes a man say, “Lord, thou hast forgiven me; I will sin no more.” Flee from worldly company and carnal pleasures that feed the skeptic within. Turn to the Word with greater earnestness, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. When the “ifs” gather thickly, cling to the simple promise. Even a mustard-seed faith will grow, and He who has given you that tiny grain will water it until it ripens into full assurance. The woman of Canaan had a great faith not because she never doubted, but because she would not let go until she received the blessing. She made Christ’s own words the logic of her plea. Go and do likewise. Rest not in your own faithfulness, but in His sure mercies.

Father, restore this weary soul whose faith is flickering. Pull them back from the world's pull and silence the enemy's whispers of doubt. Your Word promises, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move" (Matthew 17:20). Fan that tiny ember of belief into a steady flame. Open their eyes to see Your reality and truth, for "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). Break every lie and fill them with unwavering trust in You.

You describe the enemy's lies as a slow poison, making you feel your faith is a delusion. This is exactly the work of seducing spirits, who speak lies in hypocrisy, knowing the truth yet seeking to shipwreck souls. They whisper that God is not real, hoping you will let go of the only anchor that holds. But notice: your very distress shows the Spirit has not abandoned you. A seared conscience would not cry out, "Help my unbelief."
Remember Peter. He stepped onto the water at Christ's word, but when he saw the wind boisterous, he began to sink. The storm did not cause his plunge; the Lord allowed the wind to blow precisely to show that no harm comes when faith is steadfast. Christ said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" Yet immediately He stretched out His hand and caught him. So it is with you. The worldly reasoning roars like a gale, and your faith feels too slim to stand. But the same hand is stretched out now. Cry, "Lord, save me!" and He will not let you perish. He grants healing even to the weakest faith, and sometimes even the faith of others avails, but here, your own trembling cry is enough.
When unbelief is cleared out, faith comes in its place. Sarah laughed from unbelief, yet her fear arose from faith, and God fulfilled His promise. Your skepticism does not disqualify you; it is the very place where divine power can work, if you will not run from it but bring it to Him. Do not seek to establish your own righteousness by feeling strong or certain. Faith is not the absence of doubt but the refusal to let go of the One who can raise the dead. The weariness you feel and the voice whispering that God is not real and your faith is a delusion, that is not a small thing, and it is not something to ignore. The enemy preys on moments of weakness, and right now your faith is under direct assault. But the fact that you are crying out, even with a faith that feels slim and skeptical, shows something vital. A dead faith does not cry out. A person truly abandoned to unbelief does not ask for prayer to believe again. You are in a fight, not a surrender.
Faith is often misunderstood as a constant, soaring confidence. The witness of Scripture is far different. Faith is described as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It is not a feeling. It is a substance, a grounding reality that holds you even when your emotions have collapsed. Think of the great examples given to us. Many died in faith, not having received the promises in their lifetime. Their story did not end with a chariot or a miracle. It ended with a tomb, yet they were still held by the God they trusted. Faith is no automatic guarantee of a life without the shadow of doubt or suffering. Even the mightiest believers had staggering lapses. A patriarch once pawned off his wife as his sister out of fear. A great prophet ran over a hundred miles to hide in a cave from a queen’s threat. If such men could tremble and doubt, then your own struggle is not proof that faith has abandoned you. It is proof that you are walking the same path they walked.
The trouble often begins when we look at our failures, our shortcomings, and our weaknesses. Unbelief takes root when we stare at our own capacity to believe, gauging it and finding it lacking. But faith was never meant to be anchored in your own strength. The faith by which you first believed in Jesus Christ was a gift of God. You did not conjure it up, nor did you deserve it. By grace you were saved through faith, and that not of yourself. You are not called to manufacture a heroic faith from your own resources. You are called to receive from the One who gives it.
Right now, the enemy is trying to make you consider the difficulty of your situation above the promise of God. The first key to faith is refusing to make the obstacle the center of your vision. Abraham, when given an impossible promise, did not consider his own dead body or the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He put the human impossibility out of his mind. The second key is that he did not stagger at the promise of God through unbelief. He did not demand to know the “how.” You do not need to know how God will restore the vibrant faith you once felt. You do not need to understand how He is real when everything in you feels skeptical. You only need to turn your eyes from the dust of your own heart and fix them on the finished work of the cross.
Your righteousness before God has never been based on the quality of your faith or the fervor of your feelings. God accounts you righteous by your faith in Jesus Christ. Even when that faith is as thin as a spider’s thread, if it is attached to Christ, it holds. The just shall live by faith. Live, not necessarily dance or soar. Sometimes living by faith means simply refusing to let go, even when your grip feels broken.
Do not wait for a grand vision or a mystical feeling to validate the truth. Faith is the evidence of things not seen. The man of faith actually sees much more than the man who has no faith, because he sees beyond the visible decay of the moment. You see the world pulling at you; you hear the lies. But through the fog, you see Jesus, who was delivered for your offenses and raised for your justification. Cling to that. Let your small, shaking cry for help be the work that demonstrates a genuine, though battered, faith. A true faith clings to Christ alone. Nothing more is required. Nothing less will do.

Lord, this weary heart feels the world pressing in and the enemy’s lies growing loud. The faith that remains is slim and skeptical, but it is still looking toward You. Faith is often misunderstood as a constant, soaring confidence. The witness of Scripture is far different. Faith is described as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It is not a feeling. It is a substance, a grounding reality that holds you even when your emotions have collapsed. Think of the great examples given to us. Many died in faith, not having received the promises in their lifetime. Their story did not end with a chariot or a miracle. It ended with a tomb, yet they were still held by the God they trusted. Faith is no automatic guarantee of a life without the shadow of doubt or suffering. Even the mightiest believers had staggering lapses. A patriarch once pawned off his wife as his sister out of fear. A great prophet ran over a hundred miles to hide in a cave from a queen’s threat. If such men could tremble and doubt, then your own struggle is not proof that faith has abandoned you. It is proof that you are walking the same path they walked.
The trouble often begins when we look at our failures, our shortcomings, and our weaknesses. Unbelief takes root when we stare at our own capacity to believe, gauging it and finding it lacking. But faith was never meant to be anchored in your own strength. The faith by which you first believed in Jesus Christ was a gift of God. You did not conjure it up, nor did you deserve it. By grace you were saved through faith, and that not of yourself. You are not called to manufacture a heroic faith from your own resources. You are called to receive from the One who gives it.
Right now, the enemy is trying to make you consider the difficulty of your situation above the promise of God. The first key to faith is refusing to make the obstacle the center of your vision. Abraham, when given an impossible promise, did not consider his own dead body or the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He put the human impossibility out of his mind. The second key is that he did not stagger at the promise of God through unbelief. He did not demand to know the “how.” You do not need to know how God will restore the vibrant faith you once felt. You do not need to understand how He is real when everything in you feels skeptical. You only need to turn your eyes from the dust of your own heart and fix them on the finished work of the cross.
Your righteousness before God has never been based on the quality of your faith or the fervor of your feelings. God accounts you righteous by your faith in Jesus Christ. Even when that faith is as thin as a spider’s thread, if it is attached to Christ, it holds. The just shall live by faith. Live, not necessarily dance or soar. Sometimes living by faith means simply refusing to let go, even when your grip feels broken.
Do not wait for a grand vision or a mystical feeling to validate the truth. Faith is the evidence of things not seen. The man of faith actually sees much more than the man who has no faith, because he sees beyond the visible decay of the moment. You see the world pulling at you; you hear the lies. But through the fog, you see Jesus, who was delivered for your offenses and raised for your justification. Cling to that. Let your small, shaking cry for help be the work that demonstrates a genuine, though battered, faith. A true faith clings to Christ alone. Nothing more is required. Nothing less will do.
