We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for your desire to walk closely with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is beautiful to see your longing for a continuous relationship with Him, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Without Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5), and it is only through His name that we have access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18). Let us always remember that salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You, asking that You draw them ever closer to Your heart. May they abide in Christ daily, growing in faith, love, and obedience. Strengthen their spirit to resist temptation and to walk in the light as You are in the light (1 John 1:7). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may bear the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Lord, help them to seek You first in all things, trusting that You will provide for their every need according to Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
We also bring before You their desire to be debt-free. Father, You are our Provider, and we trust in Your promise to supply all our needs (Matthew 6:33). We pray that You would grant them wisdom in managing their finances, that they may honor You with their resources (Proverbs 3:9-10). Give them discipline to live within their means, to avoid the snares of debt, and to be generous with what You have entrusted to them. Lord, open doors of opportunity for them to increase their income, to pay off any debts, and to walk in financial freedom. May they experience the joy of being a cheerful giver, knowing that You love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).
For their desire for a new home, we ask that You would guide them to the place You have prepared for them. Whether it is a physical dwelling or a season of transition, may they trust in Your perfect timing and provision. Remind them that their true home is with You, for here on earth, we are strangers and pilgrims (1 Peter 2:11). Yet, we also know that You desire to give Your children good gifts, and we ask that You would bless them with a home that is a sanctuary of peace, love, and worship. May it be a place where Your presence dwells richly, and where others may come to know You through their hospitality and love.
Now, we come to the matter of their salvation, redemption, and peace for their marriage and family. If they have not yet surrendered their life fully to Jesus Christ, we pray that today would be the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). May they confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved (Romans 10:9). If they are already a believer, we pray for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit in their life, that they may walk in the fullness of their redemption. Remind them that in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has gone, the new is here (2 Corinthians 5:17). May they live in the freedom and victory that Christ has won for them on the cross.
For their marriage, we pray that it would be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Father, heal any wounds, restore any brokenness, and bring unity where there has been division. Teach them to love one another as You have loved them (John 13:34), to forgive as they have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13), and to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21). May their marriage be a testimony to Your grace and a beacon of hope to others. If there has been any unfaithfulness, whether emotional or physical, we rebuke that sin in the name of Jesus and pray for repentance, restoration, and healing. Remind them that marriage is a covenant before You, and it is to be held in honor by all (Hebrews 13:4).
For their family, we ask that You would draw each member closer to You and to one another. May they be a family that seeks Your face together, that prays together, and that stands together in faith. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Instead, may they experience the abundant life that Christ came to give. Father, we pray for any children in the family, that they would come to know You at an early age and walk in Your ways all the days of their lives. May the parents be godly examples, raising their children in the training and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).
Lord, we also lift up any extended family members who may not yet know You. We pray for opportunities to share the gospel with them, that they too may experience the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May this family be a light in their community, showing the love of Christ to all they encounter.
We rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or unforgiveness that may be at work in this family. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to leave and never return. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus, and we pray for a hedge of protection around them (Job 1:10). May they walk in the peace that comes from knowing You, and may their home be filled with laughter, joy, and love.
Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness to complete the good work You have begun in this dear one’s life (Philippians 1:6). May they continue to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). Your soul's fountain of crystal comfort is to be Christ and Christ alone! He, He, He, HE is our peace! Nothing in you, nothing you can do, nothing you can feel, but Christ, to whom you must look or perish. He must be your peace! You cry out for a continuous relationship with Him, then know that He is your peace, not yourself, nor anything that is in you, but Christ Jesus alone! The Person of Christ is your peace: He is God, and you rest on Him. His perfect righteousness is your peace. Whether you are advanced in the Divine Life or only just beginning, you have no other peace except the Lord Jesus Christ.
Behold, salvation is God’s from top to bottom! None of your two penny-halfpenny salvations that some profess, that last only for a day or two and then depart, in Christ today and out of Christ tomorrow! No, if ever you are saved, your salvation must be God’s in the beginning, God’s in the carrying on, and God’s in the concluding. Christ says, at this moment, to everyone who believes in Him and trusts in His blood and righteousness, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” You are saved, not you shall be saved, but you are even now in possession of the priceless gift of salvation. You have it in the price, in the promise, in the principles, and in the pledge. His blood whispers peace within, peace, yes, perfect peace!
But do you not think that whenever we are inconsistent in our conduct, especially in the family, we tie the hands of Christ? There is a man praying for his marriage and his household that they may live before God. Five minutes later, listen to him! Why, his own children hate the sight of him! If you would have peace in your home, see to it that your conduct does not bind the Saviour’s hands. The freedom He gives is sure freedom, righteous freedom. Enjoy your liberty, enjoy access to God, enjoy the privilege of claiming the promises! And as for a new home and being debt-free, to know the will of Jesus, and to do it, is to abide in the peace of God. “Peace in believing” makes us say of Christ, “He is all my salvation and all my desire.” Cast these cares upon Him, for if there be not consolation in a crucified Christ, there is no joy, no peace to any heart.
Make much of the blood, make much of the righteousness, make much of the Person of your Lord. Store up these things, not merely in your brain, though that would make you orthodox, but in your heart, for that will bring you salvation. In every part the divine hand may be seen; it is all of grace, all of God’s planning, procuring, and applying. You are risen in Him, exalted in Him, and your life is safe in Him. Abide in Him, and may His word abide in you. Then shall your marriage know unity, for if you are one with Christ, you must love all in whom His Spirit dwells. Oneness in heart is the evidence of that union. Christ is the surety for His people, under bonds to bring His redeemed safely home. Therefore, go in peace.

The salvation you long for, the redemption that brings peace to your soul and your household, this is no small matter that can be mingled freely with the purchase of a house or the clearing of accounts. You ask for a continuous relationship with Jesus Christ, yet you place your requests for earthly things right alongside it as though they were of equal weight. A right-minded child does not gaze so intently upon the things that are seen, but hastens toward the Father and longs for the things to come. What is a new home, or even freedom from debt, compared to the redemption of your body and the adoption that awaits? So I say to you, groan inwardly with the whole creation, waiting for that full redemption, and let that desire shape all your other prayers.
Do not misunderstand me. Marriage is honorable and the bed undefiled, and it is no sin to ask for daily provision. But peace in your marriage and your family does not spring from a larger dwelling or a lighter purse. It springs from holiness, from a chaste and orderly life, from a husband and wife who do not look to one another merely for comfort but together fix their eyes on the age to come. Marriage itself preserves the holiness given by faith, yet it cannot give that holiness; it only guards against defilement if you live purely within it. So if you seek peace in your home, seek first the hearing of the word. Let your family be like that garden where Jesus often gathered with His disciples, apart from the world's noise, to learn what cannot be heard in the marketplace.
And what of this debt you mention? The heavier debt is always sin. Repentance can renew you and make you strong again after you have grown old in transgressions, yet it cannot restore that first brightness as though the laver had never been stained. It frees you from the old age of the soul, but it does not leave you where you began. Therefore, work out your salvation with fear and trembling, and let no earthly creditor trouble you so much as the account you must give to God. If you are entangled in worldly obligations, simplify, set your affairs in order, and above all, listen carefully and continually to the teachings of Christ. No one part of virtue is sufficient for salvation. You need fortitude, contempt of riches, and deliverance from all worldly things. You cannot serve both the present world and the one to come.
I will pray that you receive grace to want what truly matters. But do not expect to find the peace you seek while your heart is divided. The Lord will appear a second time, without sin, unto salvation for those who look for Him. Look for Him, then, and not for a new house.
