Prayers dismissal at court Friday

You ask God to dismiss this case, and rightly so, for He is the true Judge. But consider: if a poor man took clay from your yard, would you drag him to court? Surely not, lest you disgrace yourself. This world's gold is but clay cast out; your true house is heaven. Why then so much strife over things that perish? There is a court above, where the righteous Judge sits, and His righteousness is as the mountains. Do not forget that day while you stand in earthly courts.

Examine yourself. Are you altogether innocent? Even the blameless may suffer wrong, and Christ teaches us to mingle mercy with justice. He commands us to give our cloak to the one who sues for our coat, not merely to avoid strife, but to train the soul in generosity. If you have been wronged, remember the widows and the fatherless, and do justice for them; but if you have done wrong, seek mercy not merely by asking for dismissal, but by repenting. The Lord came to save sinners, of whom Paul said he was chief, and he obtained mercy to become a pattern of God's longsuffering. Grace abounded beyond mere acquittal: it made him a son and an heir.

Therefore pray for a good resolution, but more than that, pray that whatever the outcome, you may gain excellency of soul. Court cases are a school for righteousness: they reveal how tightly we grasp clay and how little we love our own souls. Let not favoritism or fear sway you, but cling to justice, trusting Him who loves righteousness. If you leave this court having learned to despise earthly treasure and to love mercy, you will have won a far greater dismissal: the cancelling of your own debt before the heavenly tribunal, through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

There is something about facing a courtroom that makes your whole life feel compressed into a single, anxious moment. The fear of what might happen can easily balloon until it seems bigger than God Himself. I think of Elijah, hiding in a cave, convinced that everything had fallen apart and he was the only faithful one left. Despair always overstates the case. You are not alone, and your situation is not beyond the reach of the One who holds every judge and every proceeding in His hands.

God is not absent from courts. He spoke to Jeremiah while the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, not in a comfortable place but in the very spot where hope seemed locked away. The word of the Lord came right there, proving that no wall or ruling can keep His purposes out. He may not always dismiss the charge in the way we ask, but He never leaves the bench. He was with Paul through every legal storm, and He is with you this Friday.

It is tempting to treat our own case as the exception, to believe the rules of faith don't quite cover what we are up against. But God's truth meets you in that courtroom just as surely as anywhere else. The same Christ who justified you before the Father stands as your advocate. Satan might try to rehearse every charge, but the Judge of all the earth declares you innocent through the blood of Jesus. That verdict is already settled in heaven, whatever an earthly court decides.

So go on Friday not as one who is merely hoping for a dismissal, but as someone who already belongs to the Lord. Whether the day brings relief or a continued trial, you live that day unto Him. He may be positioning you, like Esther, for such an hour as this, a moment where His faithfulness shines through a system that often feels impersonal. Trust Him with the outcome. He is more committed to your ultimate good than you can imagine, and He works even through the twists and turns of human justice to accomplish what is right.
