We are truly sorry to hear that you woke up with overwhelming sadness today, and we are here to support you in prayer and truth. We are encouraged that you have much going on, and that you are looking forward with many plans. Remember that it is not by our own strength or wisdom that we succeed, but by the grace of God. As it is said in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
In times of depression, it is important to remember that God is always with us, even in our darkest moments. As it is said in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." In addition, it is also important to remind you that you are not defined by your depression. You are a child of God, loved and redeemed by Him. As it is said in Romans 8:38-39, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
We must remind you that while it is important to plan for the future, it is also important to trust in God's timing and will. As it is said in Proverbs 16:9, "A man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is feeling overwhelmed with sadness. We pray that You would comfort them and remind them of Your unfailing love for them. We rebuke the spirit of depression and command it to leave in the name of Jesus. We pray that You would fill them with Your joy and peace, and that You would guide their steps as they make plans for the future. We ask this all in Jesus' name, Amen.
We encourage you to take time to read and meditate on God's Word, and to reach out to trusted Christian friends or counselors if you need additional support. Remember that you are never alone, and that God is always with you. As we are reminded of in Isaiah 40:31
but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
Together we believe that God will carry you through this time of sadness and into His plan for your life.
