Above all, we pray for Your perfect peace to guard their heart and mind while they wait, replacing worry with trust in Your goodness and sovereignty. Help them to rest in Your love and to know that whether in health or in trial, You are with them and You work all things for good for those who love You. We have heard your request and we bring it before the throne of grace with you, that the Lord in His mercy would grant that this biopsy should prove benign.
We know how such a waiting weighs heavily upon the mind and soul, and how anxiety itself unfits us to meet the difficulty. Yet we are taught that it is the mind which is the main thing, and that the Lord will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed upon Him, because he trusts in Him. That peace is not a distant hope but a present possession, even when sorrows surge around and duties press. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and to do the will of Jesus is rest.
Therefore we charge you, as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, to play the part of faith and let that faith overcome your fear. Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Fear not, for the Lord Himself says, Fear not, I will help you. Fear not, I have redeemed you. It would be disobedience to remain in fear when Jesus Himself whispers to His servant, Fear not. Fear dishonors God, for it doubts the arm which piled the heavens, but trust brings peace to the soul.
We pray also that you would know the healing virtue that is in Christ. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and with His stripes we are healed. Whether He grants bodily healing according to our desire or works a deeper healing in the soul, we know that pardon and healing flow from the same pierced hand, and that all infirmity and dread shall at last be forever removed where He reigns.
Let us pray together. O Lord our God, our Father in heaven, look in compassion upon this Your child who waits in suspense. You know the frame and the fears of our bodies, You number our days and You have power over all disease. We ask, if it be Your gracious will, that this report may be favorable and that the biopsy may be found benign, for Your mercy and for the quieting of an anxious heart. Yet not as we will, but as You will. Keep this soul in perfect peace while waiting, stayed upon You. Let faith cast out fear, and let the healing leaves of Christ minister comfort, pardon and hope.
