It's Tuesday, February 5, 2013 as I write this forward to the weekly newsletter of what's been going on at prayerrequest.com.
Social Groups - A new look has been launched to the Social Groups. Social Groups are smaller and slightly more private areas of the board which are not indexed by search engines. They are only seen by other members of the site.
You can access or join a group with other members to discuss things you have in common. You can even create your own group.
Action238, faithope, Nomnac, and pradmin are running one of the existing four groups as shown below. Stop by and join in!

Live Typing Preview and Other Live Updates - [COLOR= rgb(40, 40, 40)]You can now see what others are typing as they type their prayer request. This way you can truly pray with someone as they are typing. This is much like you would be listening along with someone that you are praying with. You can see this feature on most pages of the web site in the upper right corner area. Of course, someone needs to be typing a request to see it. Here is an example shown below:[/COLOR]
Also of note, There are also two more Live Updating areas below this Live Typing Preview.
These other two areas show 1) what members were most recently active on the board and 2) what they were doing. Below is a screen shot of this area:
There is also a full page Activity Stream which can be seen by clicking on Activity Stream in the Post a Request top menu bar, or by clicking View All in the Activity Stream block.
All three of these areas update live, without having to refresh the page, as much as every second or more! These areas should be helpful to get a quick overview of what is going on throughout the site.
Prayer Cards - A new feature is now ready that allows any prayer request to be used in a Prayer Card. A Prayer Card is an online e-card, like a greeting card, that is sent to someone by email free from PrayerRequest.com on your behalf.
These cards can be sent to anyone. They do not have to be a member to receive and view the card. These cards could be useful, for example, if you want to let someone know about a request you made that is praying for them.
Above is an example of what a Prayer Card looks like (there are many options which can be customized). Each member should have received a sample card in their email during the last few days to see how it looks. If not, make sure we have your correct email in your user settings.
To send a card, just click on the link under any prayer request where it says Send this Request in a Prayer Card.
