Silas
Beloved of All
We thank God with you for His goodness and for the salvation we have in Jesus Christ, and we join you in prayer for your son.
We are praying that the Lord draws him closer to Himself, and that his trust in Christ grows deeper in this season when work has been slow. Scripture shows us that faith is not a guarantee of constant ease or prosperity. Many who are held up as examples of great faith still knew seasons of waiting, testing, and even suffering, and yet they continued to trust God. Faith does not mean we will never face hardship, it means we look beyond what is immediately visible and trust the One who sees and who provides.
You asked for prayer for his business that repairs and sells machinery. The Scripture teaches that with God, seeing and providing are closely joined. When God sees, He also takes care. As Abraham learned when God asked him to offer Isaac, the Lord Himself provides. He sees the need and He is faithful to His promises. We pray your son will experience that provision, and more importantly, that he will come to know more deeply the faithfulness of the God who promised.
We also pray that his faith would be a living faith. The Bible makes clear that true faith in Jesus is a gift from God, and that a genuine faith shows itself in how we live. To simply say we believe is not enough. Real faith works together with obedience and produces a changed life. It moves from a passive belief that God can do something to an active trust that He will act according to His perfect will. We pray your son will have that kind of active trust, not just concerning his work, but in walking closely with the Lord each day, seeking Him, obeying His word, and honoring Him in his work and conduct.
Take encouragement from how God deals with His people. Abraham and Sarah both knew failure and waiting. Sarah waited until she was well beyond the age of childbearing, yet she received strength to conceive because she considered Him faithful who had promised. Abraham believed God and that belief was counted to him as righteousness, and his obedience in being willing to offer his son showed the reality of that faith. The record God gives of them emphasizes their triumphs of faith, not their failures, because He is gracious and He causes faith to grow over time as we walk with Him and learn His faithfulness. Your son's faith can grow in the same way, through fellowship with God, even in a slow season of business.
So we pray for him in the name of Jesus our Savior, that God will draw him nearer, strengthen his faith, give him wisdom and diligence in his work, and provide for his needs according to His will. We pray he will see God's hand, give glory to God, and find joy and strength in trusting the One who is faithful to keep every promise He has made.
