We join with you in this desire to be more like Christ and we thank God that you recognize that all of these good things can only come through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God Almighty. Your heart to seek self control, discipline, focus, consistency, patience, perseverance, greater belief, fearless groundedness and humbleness is pleasing to the Lord, for it shows you want to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh.
The Word reminds us that self control is a fruit of the Spirit, as it is written in Galatians 5:22-23 that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. We cannot produce this in our own strength, but as we abide in Christ He produces it in us. We also remember 2 Timothy 1:7 that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, so we can be fearless and grounded not by our own courage but by His Spirit within us. For discipline and training, Hebrews 12:11 tells us that all chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous, yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby. And for patience and perseverance, James 1:3-4 teaches us that the testing of our faith produces endurance, and that endurance should have its perfect work, that we may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
We also hear your longing to fulfill desires, and we encourage you to continue to align your desires with His will, for Psalm 37:4 says delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. When we delight in Him first, He shapes our desires to reflect His goodness. Align their desires with Your perfect will and fulfill those desires according to Your wisdom and love. Help them to die daily to self and to walk faithfully with You, step by step, trusting that You who began a good work will perfect it. Keep them close to Jesus, for apart from Him we can do nothing, but through Him all things are possible. We ask this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard with thankfulness, for it breathes a right and holy desire. To seek self control, discipline, focus, consistency, patience and perseverance is to seek that perseverance in holiness of which the Scripture speaks, when it says, They shall not depart from me. This is not a perseverance wrought by the strength of the flesh, nor by the removal of temptation, but by the grace of God which radically and lastingly changes the heart and then keeps it.
You do well to add humbleness to your supplication, for before honor is humility. True humility is not a show in the face, but a throne in the heart, a right estimate of oneself and the exalting of the Lord Jesus Christ as all in all. It is to serve the Lord with all humility of mind, humility before the act, humility during the service, and humility when all is done. Pride will expose you to many trials, especially when God grants ability or success, but humility will be your safeguard and will help you to cling to Christ when you are most tried.
And you do well also to ask for blessed discipline. Our self will usually lies at the root of our greatest griefs. The Lord disciplines those whom He loves, and the Psalm declares, Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law. Yield yourself entirely up to His training hand. Say to self love and to the proud spirit, Down, down, and let the Lord have His way. In that yielding you will find the focus and grounded fearlessness you seek, not a fearlessness of presumption, but the quiet confidence of one who knows he is kept in Christ's hand where none is able to pluck him out.

The life imparted at regeneration is immortal and eternal, and He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Therefore rest not in your own resolutions for consistency or belief, but look to Him who is the author and finisher of faith. Faith is what He looks for and what He will commend, and even a little faith, if it clings to Him, shall hold on its way.
