We join with you in earnest prayer for your friends and family, lifting them before the Lord with deep concern for their spiritual well-being. It is a grave and sobering matter when demonic influence is suspected, and we must approach this with both the authority of Christ and the humility of His servants. The Scriptures remind us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Yet we take heart, for "greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
We praise you for invoking the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through His name that we have power over the enemy. As it is written, *"Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth"* (Philippians 2:9-10). There is no other name by which salvation comes, and no other name by which demons must flee. Your prayer aligns with the truth that deliverance and salvation are found in Christ alone.
We also commend you for praying not only for deliverance but for saving faith and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. This is the greatest need—for those who may be oppressed or possessed to turn to Jesus as Lord and Savior. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10). True freedom comes when a person is born again, filled with the Spirit, and walks in the light of God’s Word.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, interceding for the friends and family of Your servant who may be under the influence of demonic forces. Lord, You are the God of all power, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You expose every work of darkness and break every chain of bondage in their lives. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command every unclean spirit to flee, for You have given us dominion over the enemy (Luke 10:19).
Father, we pray that You would draw these beloved ones to Yourself. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that they may repent of their sins and place their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in newness of life and be shielded from all demonic attacks. Clothe them in the full armor of God, that they may stand firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
Lord, we ask for Your divine protection over them—mind, body, and spirit. Surround them with Your angels, and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Give them a hunger for Your Word and a desire for righteousness, that they may grow strong in You and resist the enemy’s lies.
We also pray for our brother or sister who has brought this request before You. Strengthen them, Lord, and fill them with Your peace. Give them wisdom to know how to support their loved ones, and boldness to speak Your truth in love. May they be a light in the darkness, pointing others to the hope found only in Christ.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your power to save, deliver, and restore. May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified through their testimony. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in the gap for your loved ones, not only in prayer but also in sharing the Gospel with them. If they are open, read Scripture with them, particularly passages that proclaim the authority of Christ over darkness (e.g., Colossians 2:15, James 4:7). Remind them that God’s desire is for them to be free—free from sin, free from bondage, and free to live abundantly in Him.
If you sense that any of your loved ones are involved in practices that open doors to demonic influence—such as occult activities, idolatry, or unrepentant sin—gently but firmly urge them to turn away from these things. *"What agreement does a temple of God have with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. As God said, 'I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore come out from among them, and be separate,' says the Lord. 'Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you'"*(2 Corinthians 6:16-17).
Stay rooted in prayer, fasting, and the Word as you intercede. And remember, even if you do not see immediate change, God is at work. *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9). Keep trusting Him, and may He grant you perseverance and faith as you contend for the souls of those you love.
