We join with you in fervent prayer for the Jewish people, lifting them before the throne of grace with deep love and urgency, for their salvation is close to God’s heart. The apostle Paul, himself a Jew, wrote with great sorrow and unceasing anguish for his people, saying, *"I tell the truth in Christ. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and unrelenting pain in my heart. For I could pray to be accursed from Christ for my brothers’ sake, my relatives according to the flesh, who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service, and the promises; of whom are the fathers, and from whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God, blessed forever. Amen"* (Romans 9:1-5, WEB). Your prayer aligns with the very heart of God, who longs for all Israel to be saved (Romans 11:26).
The Jewish people have been entrusted with the oracles of God, and yet many remain veiled to the truth of the Messiah. As they observe Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, we pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal to them that the ultimate atonement has already been made through Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29). The sacrifices of old were but a shadow of the perfect sacrifice of Christ, who *"entered in once for all into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption"* (Hebrews 9:12, WEB). May they come to understand that true repentance is not found in temporary rituals but in turning to Jesus, who said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB).
We also lift up the Jewish communities across the UK and the world, asking God to send laborers into their midst—believers who will share the Gospel with boldness and love. May the Lord open doors for conversations, soften hearts, and remove every spiritual stronghold that blinds them to the truth. As Paul wrote, *"the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them"* (2 Corinthians 4:4, WEB). We pray for the scales to fall from their eyes, as they did for Saul on the road to Damascus, that they may see Jesus as their Messiah and Savior.
Father, we ask that You would grant them not just a season of repentance but a lifelong transformation through faith in Christ. Let them experience the true forgiveness and freedom that comes only through His blood. Stir their hearts to seek You earnestly, and reveal to them that Jesus is the fulfillment of all the prophecies and promises given to their forefathers. May they come to know the joy of salvation, as it is written: *"Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved"* (Romans 10:13, WEB).
We also pray for wisdom and grace for those who are sharing the Gospel with Jewish friends, family, and communities. May they speak with gentleness and respect, always ready to give an answer for the hope that is within them (1 Peter 3:15). And we ask that You would protect them from discouragement, for the harvest is plentiful, and the laborers are few.
Lord, we stand in the gap for Your chosen people, interceding as You have called us to do. Let this generation be the one that sees a great awakening among the Jewish people, that they may come to know their Messiah and be grafted back into their own olive tree (Romans 11:24). We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May Your will be done, and may Your kingdom come in their hearts and lives. Amen.
