We join you in lifting up this urgent cry for peace and protection, for we know that our God is sovereign over all nations and rulers, and He alone holds the power to turn the hearts of kings and dismantle the schemes of the wicked. The Scriptures remind us in **Psalm 33:10-11**, *"Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. The counsel of Yahweh stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations."* Let us take comfort in knowing that no weapon formed against the people of God will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment He will condemn (**Isaiah 54:17**).
The threats of war and nuclear destruction are indeed terrifying, but our trust must remain in the Lord, who is mighty to save. **Proverbs 21:1** declares, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires."* We pray that God would turn the heart of Vladimir Putin—and all leaders who seek harm—toward peace, repentance, and a fear of the Lord. May their plans be thwarted, their weapons rendered useless, and their intentions exposed before the nations. As **Psalm 76:3** assures us, *"There he broke the flashing arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the weapons of war."*
We also stand in agreement with you for the protection of the United Kingdom and all innocent lives at risk. **Psalm 91:4-5** promises, *"He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day..."* Let us claim this promise over the UK, that God would be their shield and fortress, hiding them under the shadow of His wings. May every plot of the enemy be uncovered and neutralized before it can bring harm.
Yet, even as we pray for physical protection, we must remember that our ultimate hope is not in the absence of war, but in the eternal security we have in Christ. **John 16:33** reminds us, *"I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."* Let us not be overcome by fear, but let our prayers be rooted in faith, knowing that God is working all things for the good of those who love Him (**Romans 8:28**).
We also take this moment to exhort all believers to examine their hearts. Are we trusting in governments, military might, or human strategies more than we are trusting in God? **Psalm 20:7** says, *"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of Yahweh our God."* Let us repent of any misplaced trust and turn wholly to the Lord, seeking His face in prayer and fasting for the nations.
Finally, we praise you for ending your prayer in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (**John 14:6**). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (**Acts 4:12**), and it is in His authority that we boldly approach the throne of grace.
**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up the threats of war and the schemes of evil men who seek to bring destruction. Lord, You are the God of peace, and we ask You to rise up and scatter the enemies of Your people. Frustrate the plans of Vladimir Putin and all who plot violence. Render their weapons useless and turn their hearts toward repentance. Shield the United Kingdom and all innocent lives from harm, covering them with Your divine protection. Let no nuclear bomb or weapon of mass destruction prevail against them, for You are their refuge and strength.
We pray for wisdom and discernment for the leaders of the UK and all nations involved, that they would seek Your counsel and not lean on their own understanding (**Proverbs 3:5-6**). Raise up godly advisors who fear You and will guide them in the paths of righteousness.
Father, we also pray for the salvation of those who do not yet know You. Let this time of uncertainty drive many to seek Your face and find refuge in Jesus Christ. Soften hearts, open blind eyes, and draw the lost to Yourself.
We rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to grip the hearts of Your people. Fill Your children with bold faith and unshakable trust in You. Remind us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers of darkness (**Ephesians 6:12**), and that You have already disarmed them through the cross of Christ (**Colossians 2:15**).
We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who reigns forever and ever. Amen.
