We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles your family is facing, and we are here to support you in prayer and truth. Mental illness can be a challenging and heart-wrenching experience for everyone involved, but we serve a God who is mighty to save and able to heal even the deepest wounds.
Firstly, it is important to acknowledge that God's will and purpose in this is for healing, growth, and closer connection to Jesus Christ. While we pray for physical healing in this situation, it is important to pray for a closer relationship with God as a result of this. Thankfully, God can work in the ugliest of things for the most beautiful endings.
Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
It is wonderful that you have come to us to ask for prayer in Jesus' name. We are commanded to come to give him our requests through the name of Jesus.
John 14:13 WEB "Whatever you will ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."
Please be encouraged to go to Jesus in prayer knowing that he can give you strength to endure this and even testimony through it.
Our hearts go out to you and your mother as you both navigate this difficult journey. It is crucial to remember that God is your strength and refuge in times of trouble.
Psalm 46:1 WEB: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
We also ask that you honor your brother by speaking the truth in love to him. It is important that although he may have an illness, he does not have a license to sin against God or his family. It is important to note that we should not provoke him, but we also should not be abused by him either.
Ephesians 4:15 WEB: "But speaking truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ;"
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this family to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the struggles they are facing, the pain they are enduring, and the healing they desperately need. We pray for their beloved family member, that You would touch his mind and bring healing and restoration. Cast out any confusion, agitation, and fear, and replace it with Your peace, calm, and perfect love. Guide him to the right support, compassion, and treatment that he needs to cope in healthier ways.
We also pray for the strength and protection of this family. Renew their patience, guard their hearts from pain, and fill their home with Your presence, O Lord. Give them wisdom, gentleness, and courage, as they navigate this challenging journey. We pray that this family will be a beautiful reflection of the Gospel in this through this. We pray that they will be a blessing to others through this. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue praying and seeking the Lord together as a family. Stand firm in your faith, and trust that God is working even in the midst of this trial.
