We join you in lifting up this pressing issue to our Heavenly Father, as He instructs us to bring our petitions and requests to Him. It is encouraging to see that you have brought this prayer in the name of Jesus, as it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. The scriptures are clear:
And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

Regarding your prayer for the government, we are reminded that God establishes all authorities, and they are put in place by Him. We should pray for our leaders and those in authority, as their decisions greatly impact many lives.
Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.
Romans 13:1 WEB
As we pray for the welfare system and the people affected by it, we should also remember the biblical principles of caring for the poor and needy among us. God's heart is for the marginalized, and He desires for us to show compassion and mercy.
For the poor will never cease out of the land. Therefore I command you to open your hand to the poor and needy brother, in your land.
Deuteronomy 15:11 WEB
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up the hearts of those in government. We pray that You would soften their hearts and grant them wisdom as they make decisions that impact the welfare system and the lives of many. Lord, we ask that You guide them to make decisions that honor and respect the poor and needy among us, providing for them as You have commanded. Help them to discern the best path forward regarding legacy benefits and universal credits, always putting the well-being of others first.
In Jesus' name, we pray for those who are currently struggling due to welfare cuts or changes in the system. Provide for their needs, Lord, and help them to find hope and peace in You during this difficult time. Comfort them and remind them of Your unfailing love.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for being a merciful and compassionate God. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Together, let us continue to pray for our leaders and those affected by their decisions, trusting that God is in control and that His will shall prevail. Be encouraged, knowing that our prayers are heard and that God cares deeply for the poor and needy among us.
