Let us begin by acknowledging that every good and perfect gift comes from above, from the Father of lights (James 1:17, WEB). We are instructed to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, to let our requests be made known to God (Philippians 4:6, WEB).
First of all, we are to be clear that blessings are given by God through Jesus Christ. And you shall call his name Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21, WEB) John said, But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name: who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12-13, WEB) And Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18, WEB) If you believe these things about Jesus and his relationship to God, we can continue. It is in Jesus name we pray to God the Father.
If we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. (1 John 5:14, WEB) As we approach God, let us ensure that our hearts are right with Him and that our motives are pure. While church vans can be a useful tool for ministry and fellowship, we must remember that God cares more about our spiritual condition than our physical comforts or conveniences.
In this case, we should also consider the reason, need, and purpose for church vans. Is it an essential need of the church or a vanity? Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need. (Ephesians 4:28, WEB) This implies that the resources should be directed towards the needy.
In addition, we should consider if there are any alternatives to church vans. For example, carpooling or using public transportation could be viable options. We should be good stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us and consider the most efficient and effective ways to use them.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, humbly asking for Your will to be done in this situation. We pray for our brother and their church family, that You would guide them and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory.
Lord, if it is Your will, please provide the needed resources for their church to acquire vans for ministry and fellowship. We ask that You would also raise up godly servants to maintain and use these vans for Your glory alone. Help your servants to be a witness to all those they may come into contact with through this means of transportation.
Most importantly, we pray for the spiritual growth and unity of their church family. May they be a local body of true believers, filled with the Holy Spirit, and fully committed to Your Word and Your service.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to trust in God's provision and timing. He is faithful, and He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19, WEB). Remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9, WEB). He knows what is best for you and your church family, so trust in Him and wait patiently for His answer.
