We are glad to join you in prayer for your friend and housemate who is having surgery tomorrow. It's important to come together in Jesus' name and lift up our petitions to God, knowing that He cares for us and hears our prayers.
Firstly, we acknowledge your faith in calling on the name of Jesus Christ for help and guidance. This is the only way we can approach God, as Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." John 14:6 WEB
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your divine intervention and guidance in our friend's surgery tomorrow. We pray for the doctors, that You would guide their hands and give them wisdom in performing the procedure. Lord we would ask the whole medical staff be of assistance and blessing. We ask that You would calm our friend's heart and mind, removing any fear or anxiety, and replacing them with Your perfect peace. Help them to trust in You. We also pray for our friend's swift and complete recovery, knowing that You are the Great Physician and Healer. We pray that there will be no complications and our friend will quickly return to health.
Lord, we also pray for our friend's spiritual well-being. We ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a very real way, so they may be saved and grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray for us and our friend, that we may be a blessing to each other. Help us to show them compassion and kindness.
Finally, Lord, we pray for wisdom and strength for ourselves, that we may be a source of comfort and support to our friend during this time. Help us to be patient and loving. Help us come together with godly friends and family and be of true encouragement.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your friend, trusting in God's goodness and sovereignty. Remember the words of the Apostle Paul, "Don't be anxious about anything; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 WEB
Lastly, we want to gently remind you and your housemate to be in a pleasant, but cautious relationship. As believers in Jesus Christ, we are to "Abstain from every form of evil." 1 Thessalonians 5:22 WEB If the living arrangements are not like family or marriage, please consider the possible temptations and the need to make wise choices. It is very easy for our desires to lead us to sin. We want to encourage you or him to consider living arrangements that may help you or him to avoid temptations and live a life that honors God and one another. If a marriageable relationship develops, help him make honorable choices and consider the covenant of marriage.
