Hello friends! As you know I've been posting quite a few prayer requests on a few different topics. Here are some updates....
My cousin James: He was supposed to be paralyzed from the neck down, but he is able to move his neck and shoulders. He has some feeling in his arms but cannot make controlled movements nor grip anything. There have been some unconfirmed (with the doctors, that is) feeling in his thigh and rear end (When a person is paralyzed, they shouldn't have any care in the world about receiving an enema.... James was VISIBLY uncomfortable! This is a good sign!) Small strides have been made, but he still needs our prayers!
My fiance: He has been so lovingly and willingly attending church with me, even with the 30 minute drive out.
Pray that the Lord continues to soften his heart and he becomes receptive to the Lord's loving discipline, grace, and mercy!
My fiance's court/custody battle: For the second time, the hearing was set over for another month because the judge is ordering my fiance and his ex to complete mediation. He is not happy about this because they have completed mediation in the past and it has done no good. This isn't the outcome we were hoping for, but this is clearly in God's plan. So please pray that there is a positive outcome with mediation. We also received a good amount of evidence against his ex's current boyfriend showing why the children should not be around them (Gang activity, drug use, restraining orders, abuse against women and children, etc). Keep praying that the Lord gives the judge a discerning heart on this matter.
My stepdaughters: They still haven't been able to see their mom due to her boyfriend. They are talking to her on the phone and skyping with her, but I know that it is difficult for them. We have tried to offer and accommodate a visit at our home, but their mom refuses.
My stepdaughters' mom: As previously stated, she is really caught up in an unhealthy relationship with a very concerning person. She also has a history of these kinds of relationships. She has (according to the kids) broken up with this man, but knowing that this is the #1 issue with her kids going to her house, she hasn't made any attempt to relay that information to my fiance or myself. Unfortunately she also has a history of lying about these partners in an effort to stay out of trouble and see her kids. Fortunately, she is a believer! So pray that she draws near to the Lord and the Lord rids her of the unhealthy situations in her life that are not of Him so that she can see her kids
Thank you all so much and God bless!!
