Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so honestly what you are carrying. We are praying with you for each of these burdens you named.
We are asking the Lord to give you deep and quiet rest and to lift the weight of anxiety that has settled on you. It is not unusual to feel strong when encouraging others and then to feel faint when trouble comes to your own life. Even Job, who had helped many stand firm, felt overwhelmed when suffering touched him personally. The Lord understands that weakness and He invites you to bring it to Him in prayer rather than turning away from prayer. To fear the Lord is to find your confidence in Him, not in your own strength, and that fear of Him becomes a place of steadiness and hope when everything else shakes.
We are also praying for your future, for accommodation, for the new work of self employment, for the situation at the house, and for provision in a tight financial week with the bank holiday and extra expenses. The God who hangs the earth on nothing and holds great waters in thin clouds is able to hold your life and supply what you need. He sees the brevity of this life and He calls His people to live with eternity in view, trusting Him for daily bread and laying up treasure in heaven as we seek to please Him in small and large decisions. We ask Him to open the right doors for housing and work, to give you wisdom for each practical step, and to provide for every need according to His riches.
For the injury to your head, we are praying for healing and for peace after the fright. A headache after being struck, even when you think it is not serious, should be watched carefully. Please have it checked by a doctor or urgent care if the headache continues, worsens, or if any other symptoms appear, and let someone near you know what happened so they can help you keep watch.
We hear your wrestling over whether to speak up about someone who has hurt you and who is doing harmful things to others, and your fear that speaking could bring more harm to you. The fear of the Lord teaches us to hate evil, and it is right to care when harm is being done. At the same time Scripture warns us not to speak carelessly in God's name but to speak truthfully and humbly, knowing that God will judge. He sees both the deceived and the deceiver, and He is just. Nothing escapes His government, even the work of the enemy is limited by His boundaries. He sets the limits on what the adversary can do. Bring this difficult decision before the Lord and seek wise, godly counsel from mature believers you trust, so you can act with truth and love and with protection where it is needed. Do not let fear of people keep you from doing what is right, and do not act alone in haste. The Lord can give you courage, clear words, and the right timing.
We also pray that the Lord will lift the terror that has made your heart tremble and make your path clearer than noonday. He can cause you to forget misery as waters that pass away and to shine forth again with steadiness. He does not despise those He disciplines, and He does not abandon those who call on Him. He is near to those who are bowed down.
Father, we bring this dear one before You in the name of Jesus, who alone is our salvation and our hope. Grant deep sleep and freedom from anxiety. Provide a safe place to live, guidance for the future, wisdom for self employment, peace in the house, and provision for every financial need this week. Touch and heal the head and take away the headache and fear. Give wisdom and courage about whether and how to speak concerning the harm that has been done, and protect from any further harm. Surround with Your presence, forgive sins, and lift up this face without spot before You, steadfast and without fear. Amen.
