Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your cry has been heard and I am interceding for you before the Lord.
You speak of a deep soul cry accompanied by mockery and spiritual harassment, and of an innocent part within you that is suffering. God sees that part. Christ himself said we must become as a little child to enter the kingdom, and he called a little child to himself to show where his care rests. That innocent part of you is not forgotten or despised by him. He unveils the conscience and deals gently with the wounded soul.
Do not think that the mockery you endure means you are abandoned. The Lord knows how to answer revilers with gentleness and to soothe the wounded soul. There is nothing so strong as a long suffering soul. As a spark falling into the deep does no harm to the deep but is itself quenched, so when the soul abides in patience with Christ, the darts that are thrown do not penetrate to destroy it. The Lord can make you to stand again even after a grievous wound, to rise and stand firm in the battle.
You ask for the root of this cry to be understood. Christ came to heal the soul even more than the body, to persuade us by his teaching and to bring health within. Ask him to shine his light on what is hidden, not only to take away pain but to heal the conscience and to make whole what has been wounded long ago. He is not far from you.
The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that is the word of faith. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Bring this confession to the Father again and again, for in Christ alone is salvation and deliverance from every harassing spirit. No other name saves.
I pray for you now.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ your Son who was raised from the dead, look upon this your child who cries from the depth of the soul. You know the root of this cry even when it is not yet understood. Bring it into light, heal what is wounded, and set free what has been harassed and mocked. Cover the innocent part within with your gentleness. Give understanding, give peace, and give protection from every spiritual harassment. Let long suffering and love take root inwardly so that no thorn can spring up to choke it. Teach this heart to rest in Christ, to trust him as a child trusts a father, and to know that his yoke is easy and his burden is light. Let your Spirit intercede where words fail, and let Christ himself stand as defender and healer. This I ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
You are not alone in this prayer. Continue to call upon the Lord Jesus daily, keep his word near in your mouth and heart, and do not return mockery for mockery. The Lord who is gentle will keep you and will reveal in his time what needs to be healed.
