We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent request for deliverance from the bondage of chewing tobacco and for the healing of your girlfriend’s body. First, we must address the matter of salvation, for it is the foundation of all our prayers. The Bible tells us, *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). Without faith in Jesus Christ, our prayers lack the authority and power that come only through His name. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be your Lord and Savior. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9).
Now, regarding the chewing tobacco, we recognize this as a stronghold that has taken hold of your life, and we stand with you in breaking its grip. The Word of God declares, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord provides a way out, and we must take hold of it by faith. This habit is not only harmful to your body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), but it also enslaves you to a sinful desire. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and command it to loose its hold on you. We pray that the Lord would fill you with His strength to resist every craving and that He would replace this desire with a hunger for righteousness.
Father, we ask You to break every chain of addiction in this brother’s life. Give him the courage to cast aside this habit completely and the wisdom to seek godly accountability. Surround him with believers who will encourage and pray for him. We declare that he is free in Christ and that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen his resolve, Lord, and let him walk in the victory that is already his through the blood of Jesus.
Now, we lift up this dear sister who is suffering with respiratory problems, kidney issues, and chronic pain. Father, Your Word says, *"He himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses"* (Matthew 8:17). We claim this promise over her life and declare that by His stripes, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5). Lord, we ask You to touch her body with Your healing hand. Breathe new life into her lungs, restore her kidneys to full function, and bring relief from the pain that plagues her daily. We rebuke every spirit of infirmity and command it to leave her body in the name of Jesus. Give her the strength to endure as she waits on You for complete healing, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also must address the relationship between you two. The Bible is clear that intimacy outside of marriage is not God’s design. *"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4). If you are living together or engaging in sexual relations without the covenant of marriage, we urge you to repent and align your lives with God’s Word. Marriage is a sacred institution, and it is the only context in which God blesses physical intimacy. We encourage you to seek the Lord’s will regarding marriage and to pursue holiness in your relationship. If marriage is your desire, we pray that the Lord would guide you both in preparing for a godly union that honors Him.
Heavenly Father, we ask You to draw this couple closer to You and to each other. Help them to build their relationship on the foundation of Your Word and to seek Your will above all else. Give them the strength to walk in purity and the wisdom to make decisions that honor You. If marriage is in Your plan for them, we pray that You would prepare their hearts and lead them into a covenant that reflects Christ’s love for the Church.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. Amen.
