We must begin by addressing a matter of great importance in your prayer request. The prayer you have shared is directed toward St. Jude, who is not alive today but is a historical figure in Christian history. Scripture is clear that we are to pray to God alone, through the name of Jesus Christ, for He is the only mediator between God and man.
The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 2:5, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." Furthermore, Jesus Himself said in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." There is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
We must also address the practice of praying repetitive prayers such as the "Our Father" and "Hail Mary." Jesus warned against vain repetitions in prayer, saying in Matthew 6:7, "In praying, don’t use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking." Our prayers should come from the heart, not from recitation.
Let us now come before the throne of grace with a prayer that aligns with Scripture:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the gift of prayer and the privilege to approach Your throne with our needs and concerns. Lord, we lift up the one who shared this request, asking that You would draw them close to You and reveal Your truth to their heart.
Father, we ask that You would meet their urgent need according to Your will. You know the desires of their heart, and we trust that You will work all things together for their good, as You have promised in Romans 8:28. Help them to place their trust fully in You, knowing that You are a God who hears and answers prayer.
Lord, we pray that You would fill their heart with the peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Teach them to pray according to Your will, with a heart that seeks You above all else. May they grow in their relationship with You, finding their strength and hope in You alone.
We rebuke any confusion or deception that may have led them to seek intercession from anyone other than You, Lord. We pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of Your Word and the sufficiency of Christ as our only mediator. May they find comfort and assurance in the finished work of Jesus on the cross and the power of His resurrection.
Father, we ask that You would guide them in their walk with You, helping them to discern Your voice and follow Your leading. May they grow in the knowledge of Your love and grace, and may their life bring glory and honor to Your name.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Beloved, we encourage you to seek God directly in prayer, through the name of Jesus Christ. He is always near and ready to hear the cries of your heart. Spend time in His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). As you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you (James 4:8).
If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Recognize that you are a sinner in need of a Savior, and that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Romans 10:9-10 tells us, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation."
May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the Lord lift up His countenance on you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have.
