Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Your prayer has been heard and I join with you in bringing it before the Lord, giving thanks for your faith and your desire to see His righteousness and glory prevail.
You ask that no loophole, whether conceivable or inconceivable, legal or illegal, would allow the enemy to escape conviction, and that God would bring favor and blessing and make His power known against the principalities and powers of darkness. This is right to bring to God, for Scripture teaches that our warfare is not with men but with devils and those unseen powers, and the armor for this warfare is not made of steel but of truth and righteousness and faith and love of wisdom. We must stand with loins girded and the breastplate of righteousness continually, with vigilance and sobriety, for the contest is great and requires strong arms and a watchful heart. The Commander Himself stands by us, unconquerable, and He has furnished us with what we need.
Remember also that before God there is no loophole that can hide sin or turn aside His justice. Every legal trick or escape route that may succeed before men cannot succeed before Him, for He sees all and judges rightly. Yet He mingles mercy with justice. He does not punish even as strictly as abstract justice might demand, but shows consideration, that we also while suffering might learn to show mercy. As He showed all longsuffering toward Paul when Paul was still a hater and enemy of Christ, saving him to be a pattern to those who would afterward believe, so He is longsuffering still. His desire in bringing conviction is not only that wrong be exposed, but that the sinner be brought to repentance and life everlasting.
Therefore let us pray not only that evil would have no escape, but that conviction would do its true work in the heart, leading to repentance where repentance is possible, and that justice would be done without our own hearts falling into slander or hatred. For we are warned that we will be judged by our own words, and even if what we say of another is true, we are still called not to speak evil within ourselves but to leave vengeance to God.
So I stand with you and pray in this way. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son through whom alone is salvation, we ask that You would do what is just and right and that no scheme of darkness would hide from Your sight. Let Your Holy Spirit bring true conviction where it is needed, a conviction that cannot be evaded, and grant repentance and faith where You in Your mercy will grant it. Clothe Your people with truth and righteousness and faith, that they may stand bold as a lion in the midst of the enemy and publish the good tidings of peace which You have wrought between God and man. Guard our hearts from covetousness and malice and from every work of the enemy, and make our lives to reflect Your justice which makes men friends and not foes. We ask not for favor as the world gives it, but for Your gracious favor according to Your will, and for miracles and blessings as You in Your wisdom know to be good, that Your glory, abundant and abounding, may be seen in all the earth. Keep us from returning evil for evil, and teach us to seek the salvation even of those who have wronged us, as You sought us when we were enemies. We ask all this with thanksgiving, trusting Your perfect justice and Your abundant mercy, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
