Hold Fast Your Shield
Hold fast to unwavering trust in Christ, for it brings strength, joy, and eternal reward.
Victor Emmanuel, Emancipator
Christ sets spiritual captives free by opening blind eyes, breaking sin’s chains, and lifting the despondent into hope.
We stand with you in faith and agreement over this request and we thank you for humbly asking all these things in the name of Jesus Christ with thanksgiving, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved.

We hear your heart to see justice done and to see every scheme and hidden way of the enemy exposed and sealed so that wickedness cannot escape conviction. We are reminded that nothing is hidden from the Lord and no legal or illegal loophole can overrule His sovereignty. Heb 4:13 says neither is there any creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do. What man may try to hide or twist, God sees clearly and His righteousness will prevail.

You are right to pray against principalities and powers of darkness in high places, for our struggle is not against flesh and blood. Eph 6:12 says for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore we do not fight in our own strength, but with weapons that are mighty through God. 2 Cor 10:4 says for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds. When we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, he must flee, as James 4:7 teaches, be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

We also rejoice with you as you pray for favor and blessings and miracles and for His glory to fill the earth, and we pray that all of these would be according to His perfect will and for His honor, not merely for our comfort. We know that if God is for us, who can be against us as Rom 8:31 declares, and greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world as 1 John 4:4 tells us. No weapon formed against His purposes shall prosper, for Isa 54:17 says no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment.

We join our faith with yours, believing Matt 18:19 where Jesus said again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace with thanksgiving. We ask that You would expose and close every conceivable and inconceivable loophole, every legal and illegal escape route that the enemy would try to use to avoid conviction and justice. Let every hidden scheme be brought into the light and let Your truth and righteousness prevail. We put on the whole armor of God and we stand against every principality and power of darkness in high places, and we declare that they have no authority over Your people or over Your purposes. We submit ourselves to You and we resist the devil in Jesus name, commanding every assignment of the enemy to be broken and to flee.

Lord, we ask for Your favor to rest upon Your people, for Your miracles and blessings to be poured out according to Your will, and for Your glory, unmatched and abundant, to be seen all over the world. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, keep us walking in holiness and obedience so we give no foothold to the enemy, and let our lives reflect Your unspeakable glory. We trust not in our own words but in Your power and Your unfailing love. We thank You that You hear us and that You are faithful to complete what You have begun. All this we ask in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Thank you for letting us pray with you about this. We can hear your deep desire to see God glorified across the world and to see His justice and truth prevail without any way for wrong to hide or escape. It is a good and right thing to bring that passion to Him.

We are standing with you in faith and agreement, asking God to do what only He can do. When the burden feels heavy with all the what-ifs and possible loopholes, it helps to remember that nothing is hidden from Him and nothing is beyond His authority. We can keep laying each concern before Him and then rest in His wisdom to act according to His perfect will and timing.

It may help to keep your prayers simple and steady each day, naming these requests before the Lord and then intentionally leaving them in His hands, trusting Him to carry what feels too big to carry alone.

Father, we lift them to You and thank You that You hear. We ask for Your will to be done, for Your glory to be seen, and for Your peace to guard this heart while waiting on You. Give wisdom, strength and assurance of Your presence each day. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your request has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace, asking that the Lord will accomplish His own Divine work and fulfill His own purposes for His glory.

It is right to pray that the enemy should be given no place, and that every device and loophole by which sin would excuse itself or escape conviction should be closed by the power of God. Scripture teaches us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers of darkness in high places, and that our hope is not in our own strength but in Him who goes before His people. As it is written, the Lord will thrust out the enemy from before us, and His shield goes in front and His sword clears the way. Yet with that Divine work there is also a Divine command to be obedient to His Word and to put away that which offends Him.

We pray with you that God would grant true conviction of sin by His Holy Spirit, that hearts would not be able to turn aside or make excuse, but would be brought to see sin as God sees it and to flee to Christ who alone can save. There is no favor that is worth having except the favor which comes through the blood of Jesus Christ, and there is no miracle so great as the miracle of love by which a dead soul is made alive, a guilty conscience is pardoned, and a captive of sin is set free. We ask the Lord to work such miracles of grace abundantly, not for our own display, but that His name might be magnified and His abounding glory might be seen in the salvation of sinners and the sanctification of His people.

We therefore ask the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our only Mediator, that He would keep you faithful in prayer, strengthen you against indifference and weariness on the way to Heaven, and cause you to walk by a God given faith that trusts Him where no visible pathway appears. May He grant you to know more deeply the forgiveness that is found in Christ alone, the freedom which He gives from the dominion of sin, and the favor which belongs to those who are in Him, and may all that is asked be according to His holy will.

We stand with you in this, giving thanks that we may come boldly to the throne through our Lord Jesus, and trusting that what is according to His will He will surely accomplish for His own glory. Amen.
