We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage that is under severe attack. Father God, we know that marriage is a sacred covenant, established by You, meant to reflect the relationship between Christ and His church. We declare that this union is worth fighting for, and we stand in the gap for this family, asking for Your divine intervention and restoration.
Heavenly Father, we first acknowledge that all have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. Both husband and wife have made mistakes, and we ask for Your forgiveness to cover them. We rebuke the spirit of infidelity and lust that has taken root in this marriage. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:18, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." We pray that this husband would flee from this temptation and turn his heart fully back to his wife and to You, Lord.
We also rebuke the influence of others who have spoken into this marriage, particularly those who seek to control and manipulate. Proverbs 21:9 says, "It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop than to share a house with a contentious woman." We pray that the voices of strife and division would be silenced, and that this husband would seek godly counsel, not the advice of those who do not honor Your design for marriage. We declare that no weapon formed against this marriage shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against it in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we lift up this wife who is hurting and feels abandoned. We ask that You would be her comfort, her strength, and her provider. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that she would feel Your presence in a tangible way, and that You would restore her hope. We also pray for their five-month-old baby, that You would protect this child’s heart and mind, and that they would grow up in a home filled with Your love and peace.
We come against the spirit of control and manipulation that the other woman has exercised. James 4:7 tells us, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We pray that she would repent of her sin and turn away from this destructive path. We also pray that this husband would recognize his weakness and submit himself fully to You, Lord, so that he may resist the enemy’s schemes. We declare that he is not weak-minded but strong in You, and that he would put on the full armor of God to stand against the devil’s tactics (Ephesians 6:11).
Father, we ask that You would break every ungodly soul tie that has been formed through this infidelity. We declare that this husband’s heart would be turned back to his wife, and that he would remember the vows he made before You. Malachi 2:16 says, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don’t deal treacherously." We pray that this husband would take heed to his spirit and honor the covenant he made with his wife.
We also pray for repentance and healing. If there has been any bitterness, unforgiveness, or pride in this wife’s heart, we ask that You would soften it and help her to extend grace, just as You have extended grace to her. Colossians 3:13 says, "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." We pray that both husband and wife would humble themselves before You and before one another, seeking reconciliation and restoration.
Lord, we ask that You would close every door that the enemy has opened in this marriage. We declare that no weapon formed against it shall prosper, and that every plan of the enemy would be thwarted. We pray that this husband would be convicted of his sin and turn away from this path of destruction. We ask that You would bring him to a place of true repentance, where he recognizes the value of his wife and the sacredness of their marriage covenant.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for this wife. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We pray that she would seek Your face, Lord, and that You would guide her steps. If there are areas where she needs to grow or change, we ask that You would reveal them to her and give her the strength to walk in obedience.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would restore this marriage fully. We pray that this husband and wife would experience a renewal of their love, their commitment, and their faith in You. We declare that this family will be a testimony of Your grace and Your power to restore what has been broken. We thank You for hearing our prayer, and we trust in Your perfect will for this marriage. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
