Prayer to recover our land occupied illegally

Your request concerning the ancestral land and the home that remains occupied has been heard and brought before the Lord in prayer.

God is a God of justice and righteousness. His right hand is full of righteousness and His righteousness is as the mountains. He has ordained courts and judgment seats among men so that matters may be examined and decided in an orderly way, and He sees how justice is done both in public and in private. For that reason we can bring this burden to Him with confidence, asking not for revenge but for what is right and true to be made clear and established.

At the same time Scripture teaches us to mingle mercy with justice and to be careful in how we accuse or contend with another. Matters should be established at the mouth of two or three witnesses and according to the ancient law, and accusations should be proven and not made from suspicion alone. This reminds us to pursue what is lawful and truthful, to speak honestly, to keep our hearts free from envy or covetousness, and to leave no room for false accusation while we seek what is rightfully yours.

We are praying for you, and we encourage you to continue in prayer along these lines:

1. Pray that God, who loves justice, would bring truth to light and cause righteousness to prevail in this division of the ancestral property.

2. Pray that the courts and all officials involved would act with fairness, diligence and without delay, and that every document, measurement and testimony would be handled honestly.

3. Pray for your lawyer and for those measuring and deciding the boundaries, that God would give them integrity and clarity and remove any hindrance or negligence.

4. Pray for your cousin who remains in the house, that God would work in his heart to act justly and peaceably, to respect what belongs to another, and to come to a lawful and voluntary resolution without strife. Pray also for his salvation and well being, that even in this dispute the love of Christ may be shown.

5. Pray for your own heart, that God would keep you from bitterness or anger, grant you patience and self restraint, and help you to seek justice while showing consideration and mercy as the Lord teaches.

6. Pray that whatever the outcome, your family would trust the Lord's provision and remain at peace, knowing that our true inheritance is in Christ, and that God will supply what you need.

Continue to walk in the lawful process that is open to you, keep clear records and faithful witnesses, and do not take matters into your own hands. Commit the cause to the Lord who judges righteously, and ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and receive every good gift.

May the Lord grant you wisdom, patience and a just resolution according to His will.

Your request about the ancestral home and land has been lifted before the Lord, and we understand the weight this carries for your family. When a family inheritance is divided and one portion is set apart as a father's share, it is right to desire that the boundaries be honored and that what was given remain with those to whom it belongs.

Scripture shows that God Himself places value on family possession and on rightful boundaries. He gave laws that property should remain within families and provided that even if land had to be sold, a kinsman could redeem it so a family would not be scattered from its possession. The law also warns plainly not to move the ancient landmark or boundary stone that marks a neighbor's inheritance. To quietly shift a marker in the night to claim more for oneself is counted as dishonest gain, while to respect the landmark is to keep judgment and do justice. God is a God of justice and righteousness, and He desires fairness and honesty among His people, not conniving or taking advantage of another.

We also recognize the frustration you feel with the court and the delay of the lawyer. God ordained laws and courts so that righteousness might prevail, and at times it is necessary and right to use the legal process when someone will not act justly on their own, even when that person is related by family. Yet human courts do not always provide swift or perfect justice. The prophets describe times when justice stands far off and truth seems fallen in the street, and many have learned that even where judgment should be found, it can be delayed or denied. That is why our ultimate appeal is to the Lord Himself, who is the true Judge and who sees what is done in secret. He often takes up the cause of those who are kept from what is rightfully theirs, and He calls His people to wait on Him with patience while still pursuing what is lawful and honest.

With this in mind, here are prayer points you can use as you continue to pray:

1. Thank the Lord that He is just and righteous and that His salvation and righteousness are near to those who trust in Jesus Christ, and ask Him to reign over this matter as the final Judge.

2. Pray that God would establish the true boundaries of the property and cause what rightfully belongs to your father's family to be clearly recognized and restored, according to His principle that each family should keep its possession.

3. Pray for the one now occupying the house alone, that God would work in his heart to convict him of what is not his, to give him willingness to do what is right, and to move to his own father's portion without bitterness or strife.

4. Pray for the court officials and for your lawyer, that God would remove delay and partiality, grant them integrity and diligence, and allow the measurement and hearing to proceed fairly and without unnecessary hindrance.

5. Pray for your own family, that God would keep you from anger or any dishonest response, help you to keep judgment and do justice in all your actions, and give you peace and patience while you wait for His justice to be done.

6. Pray for wisdom to follow the lawful path with a clear conscience, to speak truthfully and act honestly in every step, trusting not in pressure or manipulation but in the Lord's ability to defend the needy and deliver from the hand of wrong.

Continue to bring this before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, who bore the penalty of our sins to satisfy God's righteous justice and who now intercedes for His people. He knows what it is to face unjust proceedings, and He is able to keep you and to bring about what is right in His time. May the Lord grant you quiet confidence as you trust Him to do what is just and to guard your family in His will.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf concerning the ancestral property and the home that was given to your father as his share. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for this burden regarding the illegal occupation of your land.

We have been lifting this situation to the throne of God with you, asking for His justice and mercy to prevail. We have prayed for the ancestral home that is still occupied by your cousin, the son of your father's youngest brother, and that he would move to his own father's property as is right. We have also prayed regarding the delay in the court process to measure the property and the delay with the lawyer, that God would move upon the hearts of all those involved and grant favor and a swift and just resolution so that you may possess what is rightfully yours.

We take comfort in what Scripture says, that God is a God of justice, Isaiah 30:18, and that He will not allow the ancient landmark to be removed, Proverbs 23:10. We rest on the promise that when we commit our way to the Lord and trust also in Him, He shall bring it to pass, Psalm 37:5.

As you asked for prayer points to help you pray for the eviction of the illegal occupier in a way that honors God, we offer these points we are praying with you

We pray that God would soften the heart of the occupier and bring him to do what is just and peaceable without strife
We pray that God would grant wisdom and diligence to the lawyer and to the court officials and remove every delay in measuring and establishing the boundaries of the land, Deuteronomy 19:14
We pray that God would protect your family from discouragement and guard your testimony, that all actions would be done with integrity and grace
We pray that God's perfect will and His justice would be accomplished and that His peace would rule in your hearts while you wait

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We pray together now, Father we ask for Your righteous justice in this matter of the ancestral land, we ask You to intervene where there is delay and occupation and to make a way where there seems to be no way, grant wisdom to the authorities and conviction to do what is right, and let Your will be done in this inheritance, we ask for restoration and peace for this family, in Jesus Name, Amen.
