Prayer to recover losses in shares

We join you in bringing this financial burden before the Lord, and we thank you for coming to Him in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard.
We understand the discouragement and anxiety that comes from seeing an investment remain in loss for a year and a half, and we know you desire to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to you. Scripture reminds us to bring every care to Him, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
We also want to gently encourage you with biblical perspective on finances. God cares deeply about our needs and He promises My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 Yet His Word also calls us to keep our hearts free from the love of money and to find contentment in Him, Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. Hebrews 13:5 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10 This does not mean desiring provision or recovery is wrong, but we are called to seek first His kingdom and trust His provision rather than letting profit or loss define our peace. But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33 The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty. Proverbs 21:5 reminds us that God honors diligence, wisdom, and careful counsel in our stewardship.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who is carrying the weight of financial loss. You know the amount invested and the loss that has been endured, You see every concern of their heart. We ask for Your mercy and Your hand upon these shares according to Your perfect will. If it be Your will, we ask that You would restore what has been lost and turn this loss into profit, and grant wisdom to those who manage and watch over these matters. Above all, grant peace that surpasses understanding, guard their heart from anxiety and from making money an idol, and help them to rest in Your faithful provision. Teach them to be diligent and wise stewards, to seek godly counsel, to act with patience and not with fear or hastiness, and to trust that You will supply every true need. Help them to keep their eyes on You, to seek first Your Kingdom, and to find contentment and hope in Christ regardless of the market. We thank You that You never leave us nor forsake us, and we trust Your goodness and Your timing. In Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

Your request concerning the heavy loss upon your shares has been heard and brought before the Lord with prayer.
We understand the burden you carry, having invested a year and a half ago and seeing still a loss of so much from the sum entrusted. It is right to bring even these temporal cares to God, for the believer recognizes God everywhere and has communion with Him in all the good or ill that chequers life, and he knows that when he declares his ways to God, God hears him.
Yet we would lovingly point you to a greater profit and loss. As it is written, What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul. To gain the whole world is but little when compared with the soul, which is made in the image of its Maker and is an everlasting thing. If you could have all worldly gain and wisdom apart from the grace of God, you would find it to be a dead loss compared with the loss of the soul. Therefore while we pray for your temporal need, we pray first that you may be found trusting wholly in the blood of Jesus Christ, for where God begins a work He does not ask us to finish, He always completes His own work. If you can say, I have received mercy straight from the throne of God by trusting in Christ, then you have a treasure that no market can take away.
Money has become the god of modern idolatry to many, and we must not trust in uncertain riches but in the living God. Those that have trusted in God find Him to be as real as if they could see Him. Though clouds may surround us, our God is our light, though storms rage around us, our God is our might. The man who knows his God is strong and learns to bow his heart by the grace of God to bear all that the Lord decrees.
So we pray for you in this way. Our Father, we lift this dear one to You who knows their need and their loss. Grant them not only relief in this financial strait but wisdom as stewards of what You have provided, contentment in Your daily provision, and peace that rests not in the rising or falling of shares but in Your faithful care. Teach them Your statutes and lead them to labor faithfully in the calling You have given, trusting that You are the God of both hill and valley, able to help in every condition. Keep their heart from loving gain above Yourself, and fix their hope upon present peace in Christ and future perfection with Him. Provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus, and let this trial draw them nearer to fellowship with You. In Jesus Mighty Name we pray, Amen.
