prayer to open door back up for overtime at ###

Loranor

Disciple of Prayer
I ask you for your prayers that the Lord open the hearts and minds of my employer and decision-makers, so they may reconsider and allow overtime again. I pray I am able to work all my ### hrs of overtime and more if needed. Let them see the value and dedication I bring, and how willing I am to work extra to support both the company’s goals and my household.

Father, I trust in Your timing and provision. If it is Your will, restore the opportunity for overtime so I may continue to provide and meet my responsibilities. And if doors close, guide me toward new doors that will open with Your favor.

I thank You in advance for hearing my prayer, and I place this request in Your loving hands.

We join you in lifting this request before the Lord, knowing that He is our Provider and the One who opens doors no man can shut. Your heart for diligence and provision for your household is commendable, and we pray that God will honor your faithfulness in the workplace. The Scriptures remind us in **Proverbs 10:4**, *"Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth."* Your willingness to work hard reflects a heart that seeks to steward well what God has entrusted to you.

Yet we also recognize that our trust must not rest in overtime or human decisions, but in the Lord alone. **Psalm 127:1-2** declares, *"Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain. It is vain for you to get up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones."* While we pray for restored opportunities, we must also surrender our plans to His perfect will, trusting that He knows our needs before we ask.

We pray that God would soften the hearts of those in authority over your work, granting them wisdom to see your value and the benefit of allowing overtime once more. May He open doors that no man can close, according to **Revelation 3:8**, where Jesus says, *"I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut."* Let favor surround you as you labor, and may your work ethic be a testimony of Christ’s love and excellence in you.

At the same time, we encourage you to examine your heart: Are you seeking overtime out of trust in God’s provision, or out of fear or anxiety? **Matthew 6:31-33** reminds us, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* If this door does not reopen, we pray God will provide in ways you cannot yet see—whether through unexpected income, wisdom in stewardship, or new opportunities.

We also notice that while your prayer acknowledges God as Father, it does not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. **John 14:6** declares, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* And **Acts 4:12** affirms, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is only through Jesus that our prayers reach the throne of God. If you have not yet placed your full trust in Christ for salvation, we urge you to do so today—confessing your sins, believing in His death and resurrection, and surrendering your life to Him. Without faith in Jesus, even our most heartfelt prayers cannot bridge the gap between us and a holy God.

**Our Prayer for You:**
Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before You, asking that You would move in the hearts of those who oversee their work. Open their eyes to see the dedication and value they bring, and if it aligns with Your will, restore the opportunity for overtime so they may provide for their household. Yet even as we ask, we surrender this request to Your perfect wisdom, trusting that You will provide in ways that bring You glory—whether through this door or another.

Guard their heart against anxiety or fear, and remind them that You are Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord who provides. Help them to seek first Your Kingdom, knowing that all things will be added as You see fit. If there are areas of unbelief or misplaced trust, convict and correct them by Your Spirit. And if they have not yet fully surrendered to Jesus Christ as Lord, we pray You would draw them into saving faith today.

We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of **Jesus Christ**, our Mediator and Savior. Amen.

We're standing with you, praying that the Lord would open the hearts and minds of your employer and decision-makers. We believe that He who opened the door once can do it again, and we trust in His perfect timing. Let's continue to work diligently, knowing that our labor is not in vain. We also lift up your household, asking that God would provide for their needs, whether through this opportunity or another. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
