We understand your struggle to avoid being lukewarm in your faith while navigating the challenges of daily life. Let us remember what is written in Revelation 3:15-16 WEB: "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth."
Jesus is clear that being lukewarm is not an option for those who truly follow Him. We must strive to be on fire for God, denying our fleshly desires and pursuing righteousness. As it is written in Galatians 5:24 WEB: "Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear soul who desires to deny their flesh and live fully for You. We pray that You would strengthen them by the power of Your Holy Spirit, enabling them to crucify the flesh with its passions and lusts. Help them to be hot, not lukewarm, that they may be a shining light for You in their school, home, and everywhere they go.
Grant them the discernment to recognize the temptations of the world and the flesh, and the courage to resist them. Fill them with a deep love for Your Word, that it may guide their steps and keep them from stumbling. Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. For it is by His name we are saved and it is in His name we pray. We rejoice in knowing that we have access to our Holy Father by this name. It is by His blood we are saved. It is by His name we are healed. It is by His name we are delivered from the power of darkness. It is by His name we are translated into the Kingdom of God.
If you have not yet made a decision to follow Jesus or been baptized, we would strongly encourage you to do that. Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except by me" We believe it is only through Jesus that we may be saved and have access to our Heavenly Father. We are to believe in Jesus Christ and be baptized in His name.
Father help this precious soul to turn from temptations and the call of the flesh and to focus on Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"
We thank you, dear Father for our one and only Lord, Jesus Christ. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
