Before praying for a spouse, we must ask: Are you walking closely with the Lord? Are you seeking Him first above all else? Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* A godly marriage begins with a heart fully surrendered to Christ. Let this union be one that honors You, reflects Christ’s love for the Church, and brings glory to Your name. Guard them from ungodly relationships, from the temptation of fornication or emotional compromise, and from the deception of the enemy who seeks to distort Your design for marriage.
We rebuke any spirit of impatience, loneliness, or desperation that may be driving this request. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Help them to trust in Your timing, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
Finally, Father, we ask that You surround them with godly community—brothers and sisters in Christ who can encourage them, hold them accountable, and walk with them in this season.
