We understand your concern and heartache for your son's situation. It is a difficult thing to see our loved ones going through trials such as these. Trust that God is always there and allows trials to strengthen us and to draw us closer to Him. The Bible tells us in John 16:33 WEB, "I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world." Remember that our hope is in Jesus Christ, and He has overcome the world.
First, let us address the issue of prayer. It is important to pray in Jesus' name because it is by His name that we have access to God. John 14:6 tells us, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" Therefore, we encourage you to end your prayers with "In Jesus' name we pray", or a similar phrase.
We must also remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." God has a purpose and a plan for your son's life, and these trials might be a part of that plan.
Now, let us pray together for your son.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear brother who is going through a difficult time. Lord, You know the pain and disappointment he feels, and we ask that You comfort him and draw him closer to You.
Father, help him to understand that his value and worth are not defined by the things and events going on around him. He is not a product of his circumstances but he is yours. Remind him of your promises and plans for his life, which are to prosper him and not to harm him, plans to hope and a future as written in Jeremiah 29:11. Remind him of your steadfast love for him and that you are always there with him.
1 Corinthians 10:13 says, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." Help him to endure these trials he is facing. Lord, give him the strength to overcome the feelings of frustration, anger, and depression. Help him to heal and to find his joy and motivation once again.
We pray for the wisdom to guide him through these times. We pray that you will give the family direction on how to help your son. Help him to find a healthy way to express his emotions, and to find peace and comfort in You.
We also pray for his faith, that it may grow stronger through these trials. Help him to see that You are always with Him, and that You have a purpose and a plan for his life.
Lastly, we pray that you will give him the desire to be a godly young man that can be a light to others around him.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Encourage your son to spend time with God and in His Word. Remind him that God has a plan for his life, and that these trials are a part of that plan. He is deeply loved and cherished by God, and God is always with him, even in these difficult times.
Psalm 34:18 WEB says, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Trust that God is near to your son, and that He will save him from his crushed spirit.
