Thank you for sharing so honestly about the deep hurt you have walked through and for allowing prayer for you. The betrayal you describe is real and painful, and the fact that what was done cannot be reversed makes the wound feel even deeper. It is understandable that you would feel in survival mode, where even simple tasks feel heavy. God sees that place and He is not distant from it.
You compared your experience to Joseph being thrown into the pit by his own family, and that is a fitting picture. Scripture shows that kind of wound from those who should be closest cuts the deepest. Jesus Himself knew that pain. He was not honored among His own family and His own brothers did not believe in Him at first. He understands rejection from within the household, and He understands what it is to be misjudged and cast aside by those nearest to you.
There is also a deeper comfort in what Scripture teaches about family. When we belong to Jesus Christ we are brought into the family of God, and the bond we have there through Christ can be deeper and stronger than even blood ties, especially when blood ties have brought wounding instead of shelter. Many who have been hurt by their own family have found that God surrounds them with brothers and sisters in Christ who can walk closely with them, love them, and help bear the burden. You are not alone in the pit. God has not left you there, and He often provides His family to stand with you as you come out.
Coming out of the pit is often a process. The Bible shows us that God heals in different ways. Sometimes healing is immediate, but often it is gradual. There is a divinely established process of healing in our bodies, and the same is true in our emotions and minds. A gradual healing is no less from God than an instant one. Please do not hear the slowness as a sign that you lack faith or that there is some hidden failure in you. We do not fully understand why some wounds lift quickly and others take time, but God is at work even when the progress feels slow.
In that slow process, God is also teaching a deep dependence. There are seasons when we become acutely aware that we depend on God for our very survival each day, and while that awareness can be painful, it can also be a healthy and holy place. In truth we always depend on Him, but when we know it consciously we learn to trust Him more fully. Right now you may be doing what is necessary simply to keep going, to keep from being overwhelmed, and God honors that. The fuller restoration of strength and vision often follows step by step as He binds up the wound.
Your desire to be productive again toward the goals and vision God has given you is good, and God is not impatient with you in it. The fact that simple tasks are still a challenge does not mean you are failing. It means you are still healing. As God restores you, strength for daily faithfulness will return, and with it capacity for the larger purpose He has for you. Joseph was in the pit, but God did not leave him there. He lifted him out and in time used even the evil done against him for good.

Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the depth of the betrayal and the wound that cannot be undone by human hands. You see the exhaustion of living in survival mode and the struggle with even small tasks. Lord, we ask You to be their sustainer day by day. Teach them to trust You for each breath, each step, and to know Your presence in the pit and on the way out of it.
Bring healing to the hurt, Lord. Heal the memories and the scars in Your way and Your timing, whether quickly or gradually. Lift the weight of survival mode and restore steadiness, clarity, and strength. Renew vision and give grace for productive work again, one faithful step at a time. Surround them with the love and fellowship of Your family, that they would experience a deeper belonging in Christ than the pain they have known from family. Comfort them with the knowledge that Jesus knows rejection and is near to the brokenhearted.
We thank You that You are the God who lifts from the pit and who restores. We trust You to complete the healing You have begun and to lead into a future of hope and purpose in Christ. Amen.
