Silas
Beloved of All
We have lifted you and your husband and your daughters before the Lord in prayer, and we thank you for sharing so honestly about the burden you are carrying for your marriage and home.
The Scripture shows us that Jesus has complete authority over every evil spirit and every work of darkness. When He walked on earth He confronted unclean spirits and they cried out to be left alone, because evil does not want to be exposed to the light. But Jesus did not leave it alone. He cast out those spirits and healed the sick and cleansed the leper, and in doing so He showed us the heart of the Father. He who has seen Jesus has seen the Father, and the Father's heart toward His children is good. Jesus went about doing good, healing and restoring, and that same power and goodness is your hope now. You do not need to be ruled by fear from a nightmare. Dreams are not sovereign over your family. Christ is. As you pray, you are bringing what is hidden into the light before the One who has already overcome the enemy, and you can rest in His protection.
God's design for marriage is that two become one. It is a compound unity, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and He Himself is to be at the center holding it together. Because that bond is precious, Scripture also warns that a little leaven spreads through the whole lump and that the birds that steal the seed in the parables represent the work of the enemy to take away what God has sown. This is why wise and loving boundaries are not unkind, they are biblical. To allow ongoing confusion, jealousy, or influence from outside that sows discord is to allow something that can permeate the whole home. To lovingly set limits, to guard your communication and your intimacy, and to keep your home centered on Christ, is to guard what God has joined together.
We have prayed that the Lord will place His shield around you, your husband and your children, physically, spiritually and mentally, and that He will encamp His angels around you as Psalm 34 promises. We have asked Him to give you peaceful sleep and to replace fear with His peace, to expose and bring to nothing any plan meant to divide you, and to keep jealousy and strife from having any foothold. We have prayed that He will do a deep and lasting work in both of your hearts, softening, healing and drawing you closer to Himself and to each other, so that love, respect, honest communication and tender intimacy can grow again. We have prayed especially for your husband as he travels home to you, for safety on the journey and for a renewed mind in Christ, that he would come home with a desire to love and cherish you, to lead his home in a godly way, and to join you in raising your daughters in a peaceful and joyful environment that shows them the beauty of Christ's love for His people.
We also prayed that God will beautify your marriage day by day as you keep Him in the center, that you will have time together to pray, to talk and to love one another, not as strangers under the same roof but as one flesh growing stronger. If there are hurts or doors that have been opened to the enemy through bitterness, unforgiveness, or outside influences, bring them fully to Jesus in confession and forgiveness. The enemy's purposes are always destructive, but Jesus came to give life and to set people free. Resist the enemy by submitting to God, and Scripture says he will flee.
May the Lord manifest His glory in your home, deepen your love for each other and for Him, and guard your family in every area. We will continue to ask Him to do miracles in your marriage and to keep you in His unbreakable care.
