Prayer to be and good doer and listener of Word

Jonathan_M

Beloved of All
Dear Family Of God, Today I'd like to pray that i may be a good doer of the word. I pray that my actions are good. I pray that I teach those the good that I heard and well as do myself. I pray for favor favor favor. I pray for miracles miracles miracles in pray for blessings blessings blessings. I'd like to pray against principalities and powers of darkness in high places. I pray for extreme, unmatched, unstoppable, unspeakable, abundantly, abounding glory all over the world. Please stand with me in faith and prayer over this. All these things I humbly ask in Jesus Christ name with thanksgiving. Thank you.

We rejoice with you in your desire to be not only a hearer of the Word but a doer of it, for this is the heart that pleases God. We stand with you in faith and thank God that you have asked this in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

The scripture calls us to this very commitment, But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves James 1:22. And Jesus said, Yes rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it Luke 11:28. We are encouraged that you want your actions to be good and to teach others what you have heard, which reflects the pattern in Ezra 7:10 and the call to let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven Matthew 5:16. This begins with hiding His word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him Psalm 119:11 and meditating on it day and night that we may observe to do according to all that is written therein Joshua 1:8.

We also hear your heart for favor, miracles, blessings and glory, and for victory over darkness. We gently encourage you to seek first the Giver rather than only the gifts, for true favor and blessing flow from walking in obedience and abiding in Christ. God does pour out His glory and power according to His will, and we agree with you that the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea Habakkuk 2:14. At the same time we remember that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we must put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand Ephesians 6:11, walking in truth, righteousness, faith and prayer, not in our own strength but in the power of the Holy Spirit.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ with thanksgiving. We ask that You give our dear brother or sister a hunger to hear Your Word and grace to do it with joy and faithfulness. Help them to be transformed as they behold Your glory, that they may be changed from glory to glory by Your Spirit 2 Corinthians 3:18. Let their actions reflect Your goodness and let their teaching of others be done in truth and love. We ask for Your favor according to Your will, for Your blessings that make rich and add no sorrow, and for miracles that will bring honor to Your name and draw many to salvation. We pray against every principality and power of darkness in high places, and we ask for Your protection and victory through the blood of Jesus and the authority of Your Word. Let Your abounding and unspeakable glory be revealed in their life and spread throughout the world, that many may know You. Keep them steadfast, humble and obedient, bearing fruit for Your kingdom. All this we ask in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We appreciate you sharing this prayer with us. Your desire to hear God's Word and live it out, and to teach others by both word and example, is a beautiful longing and we are glad to stand with you in it.

Wanting to walk faithfully day by day is often where growth happens most, in small, steady steps rather than all at once. One thing that has helped many is to take a single thought from Scripture each morning and ask, how can I practice this today in a concrete way, whether in kindness to someone nearby, in honesty in our work, or in quiet listening before the Lord. Sharing that simple intention with a trusted friend or pastor can also help keep us encouraged and accountable as we learn to be both listeners and doers.

We hear your heart for God's goodness to be known widely and for his protection as you face spiritual opposition. We join you in asking for his wisdom, strength and guidance to stay close to Jesus through it all.

Father, we thank you for our brother's hunger to know you and to walk in your ways. Give him clarity as he listens, courage to do what is right, and grace to teach others with humility and love. Guard him from the enemy's schemes and keep him rooted in Christ. Lead him step by step according to your good will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer is a good and needful one, and we do rejoice to stand with you in it, for it is not the mere hearers of the Word, but the doers of it who are blessed.

You have asked that you may be a good doer and listener of the Word, that your actions may be good and that you may teach others the good you have heard and do it yourself. This is the very obedience of faith of which the Scripture speaks. Faith is the fountain, the foundation and the fosterer of obedience, and faith is the morning star of obedience. We do not obey to earn grace, but because grace has already made us whole. He that said to the sick man, rise and made him whole, by that same word of power made him take up his bed and walk. So it is with us. The same Word that heals the sickness of our sin constrains us to obedience, and the authority of Jesus is supreme because from His lips we received the Word which healed us.

Take your Bible and let Him speak to you again out of the Word, and may the same thrill which awoke you out of your death sleep wake you out of all present lethargy. Receive the Word not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the Word of God, which effectually works in them that believe. Tremble at His Word, for to this man will the Lord look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit and trembles at His Word. The Word of God is quick and powerful and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart, and it will lay bare the secret thoughts of the soul that we may walk in the light.

Remember also that the exactness of obedience is the essence of obedience. True obedience is not the obedience of a slave tuned to the crack of the whip, nor the obedience of terror, but the obedience of a child, the obedience of love. It does not say, I will go thus far and no further, but it turns not to the right hand nor to the left, and follows the Lord wholly. If any is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror, for he beholds himself and goes his way and immediately forgets what manner of man he was. May the Lord keep you from such forgetfulness.

And from you, as from those at Thessalonica, may there sound out the Word of the Lord. When you have received it with conviction, speak it with the accent of conviction to others, telling out simply the story of the Cross, that sinners may be brought to Christ who came into the world to save sinners.

We join our prayers with yours now.

O Father of all grace, we thank Thee for putting this desire into our brother's heart, for every good desire cometh from Thee. Work in him a true hearing that trembles at Thy Word and a true doing that flows from faith in Christ Jesus who alone saves. Make him wholehearted and cheerful in obedience, not of dread but of love. Grant him favor in Thy sight through the blood of Thy Son, and let Thy will be done in all things Thou seest fit to grant, whether in blessing or in trial. Strengthen him to stand against principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in high places, clothed in the whole armor of God, strong in the Lord and in the power of Thy might. Let Thy Word be as a sword in his hand and in his heart, and let Thy glory be seen in his life and sounded out to others, that Christ may be honored in all things. This we humbly ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, with thanksgiving. Amen.
