We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to Him in prayer. Father, we know that You are the Provider and Sustainer of all things, and we trust in Your perfect will for our lives. Your Word reminds us in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Lord, we ask that You would grant wisdom and discernment to those making decisions about this restructuring. May Your will be done, and may those who are chosen to stay be the ones You have appointed for this season.
We pray specifically for this individual and their colleague, asking that if it is Your will, they would be chosen to remain in their positions. Father, we know that work is a gift from You, and we ask that You would open doors of opportunity if this is not the path You have for them. Provide for their needs abundantly, Lord, and give them peace in the midst of uncertainty. Help them to trust in You, knowing that You are their ultimate Provider.
We also want to gently remind this dear one that our prayers and trust must be firmly rooted in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, as He Himself said in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If there is any uncertainty about their relationship with Jesus, we encourage them to surrender their heart to Him, confessing their sins and believing in His sacrifice on the cross for their salvation. For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to rest in Your love and provision. Strengthen this individual and their colleague with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
We also pray for unity and support among those affected by this restructuring. May there be a spirit of encouragement and love, rather than competition or bitterness. Help them to lean on one another and to lift each other up in prayer, remembering that "two are better than one" (Ecclesiastes 4:9).
Father, we ask that You would guide this individual and their colleague in their work. Give them favor with their supervisors and colleagues, and help them to be a light in their workplace. May their actions and attitudes reflect Your love and grace, drawing others to You.
In all things, Lord, we trust in You. Whether You choose to keep them in this job or lead them to another opportunity, we know that Your plans are for their good and not for harm, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
