We are delighted to join you in prayer for the upcoming marriage covenant between you and the man God has chosen to be your husband. It is wonderful to see your commitment to a godly marriage, and we will lift up your union before the Lord.
Firstly, we must acknowledge that it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, to lift up Your daughter and the man You have chosen for her. Lord, we ask that You guide their steps as they prepare for the sacred covenant of marriage. May Your grace lead their hearts and hands, drawing them closer to You and to each other.
Father, we pray for the upcoming marriage ceremony, that it would be a blessed event, honoring both You and their families. We ask that You shine Your light upon this union, that it may be a testament to Your love and faithfulness.
We also lift up their parents. We ask that You uphold them in health and grace as they support their children in this new journey. May they find strength, peace, and joy in Your promises.
Lord, we pray for a strong foundation for this marriage, built upon Your word and principles. May this couple strive to live in love, humility, and mutual submission, as instructed in Ephesians 5:21-33 WEB: "subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ. Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord... Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... Nevertheless, let each one of you also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects the husband."
Finally, we pray that this marriage will be a lifelong commitment, reflecting the unbreakable covenant You have made with Your people. We ask that You grant them the strength and wisdom to remain faithful to each other and to You, until death do they part.
We rebuke any past, present, or future sexual sin in this relationship. Sex outside of marriage is fornication. Remember to flee from sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
